I would say now that Hoffman has signed elsewhere, Storm have money to retain Proctor, which is a good thing for our club, he was way to expensive for what he brings to the table. The time and money would be better spent of getting ferguson, and getting him right, but for Trent, I wouldn't want in here either, but there is something special about Robbo, that I trust in his judgement, and I'am sure the contract would be heavily loaded in the clubs favour, as far as dismissing him from the club, if it doesn't work out. If it all comes off, next season, we are going to have one hell of a backline, so fingers crossed everybody, and lets just enjoy the ride, and see where we end up.

his current injury sounds fairly nasty, broken ankle and splintered bone in his leg, how the hell did he do that?
with such a serious injury and obvious mental demons, there must be a serious question to whether he will ever return to his best form.
one thing I agree with though is if the club is actually going to sign him we need to get our medical people treating him as soon as possible to get him fit for next season, because there is no way the NRL will register a contract for him this year.

Just thinking here, I'am not sure of Fergusons ability taking the high ball, but if he is good at it, then Fullback would be ideal for him, to pick and chose his forays into the backline, like Inglis does at souths. As much as I love RTS, he is just not doing it for me as a replacement fullback. I say leave him on the wing, till Maloney retire's or moves on, as he is a perfect type player for that position. Interesting times ahead.

Id rather not see that bloke in a chooks jersey to be honest. We change the culture for the better, no constant media scrutiny every time a player goes out and if he signs you will have photographers hanging around just waiting for him or someone else to j walk so they can splash it all over the papers.
Let him re-hab his life playing at another club.

Blake Ferguson saved by DOCS to live NRL dream
THERE'S something extremely special about a 19-year-old who views the outside world with wide-eyed wonderment while evaluating his own life with a wisdom some men never achieve before they die.
"I don't care about coming across too confident," he says. "That's how I am. That's normal for me. If you are not confident you are not going anywhere."
Maybe such assuredness comes from his distant bloodline to Australia's boldest sportsman - Anthony Mundine.
Like the supremely confident NRL star turned world champion boxer, Ferguson is Aboriginal and proud. Inked inside his left bicep is a tattoo bearing the name of his Wellington tribe, Wiradjuri.
But the truth is that Ferguson belongs to no one but himself. Growing up, he can't remember his paternal father, Steve Lyons, a figure who has only recently become a small part of his life.
"My mum wasn't good at taking care of me and I had to go away for a better life," Ferguson says. "They (DOCS) came for me. That's when I went to live with my grandmother in Wellington. I had to get out of there and I was glad to. I wanted to play football but I didn't weigh as much as I should have. I wasn't eating properly.
Ferguson accepted the gift from his mum after the game, caught between forgiving and forgetting.
#####
What about the NRL gives the boy's dream another chance, at the Sydney Roosters, in the name of 'reconciliation'.
Isn't that what the "All Stars v Indigenous All Stars" game is about?Last edited by bondi-boy; 05-11-2014, 10:23 AM.

I will have serious issues if the club ends up signing him. Not only is the guy ya complete buffoon but he has played maybe 5 good games his entire career. Yes I agree one of those was against us last year, but can anyone name any game outside of that and the purple patch last year just prior to Origin where he had been this 'absolute superstar game breaker' that so many on here claim him to be??
His signing will end badly for the club one way or another.

SKD to the wing, Ferguson to the centres, on 'last chance pool'.
What's the worst that can happen?
He doesn't make it...and we wave him goodbye....SKD goes back to the centres and we promote another player to FB or wing.
The best that can happen is that we buy ourselves a star centre.
No other players much are on the market.
Sometimes one has to take calculated risks.
The last Muslim we signed went ok.

NO NO NO NO NO !
I'm all for giving folks a second, even third chance - Friend being a great example. However, there is a HUGE difference between drug and alcohol 'misdemeanors' and Blake's unprovoked sexual assault.
On top of that, his attitude throughout the entire ordeal has been atrocious - the most narcissistic display i've ever seen from a footballer tbh - and our leaders SBW and Minichello wont be here next year to keep him in line.
I'd prefer to keep Jennings, SKD and Moga any day of the week over this scumbag.

I would suggest we suck it up, move on and trust Robbo. There will be plenty of clauses in his contract to protect us. If he farks up, we do what we did with Carney.
I think its worth the risk coz of what he can bring at his best. If he farks up then we all know the Club will cover themselves contract wise and we will have the depth to cover a sacking.
I think Robbo is a smart man. He wont take his crap.Embrace the Hate! JC

I think fergo has a lot of time to reflect on his career so far. if he is cheap , and if all I's and T's are crossed and dotted on the contract buy him , test him and teach him what its like to play in a professional team and we might just be able to polish a turd1911 1912 1913 1923 1935 1936 1937 1940 1945 1974 1975 2002 2013 2018 2019 2020
