Unless more evidence is bought to light I wouldn't be standing down Pearce at all. Fine him for stupidity yes, but that's it.
Yes, he shouldn't have argued with the police and given them the opportunity to handcuff him. But when you've had a few drinks and believe you're perhaps being treated unfairly, these things happen.
At 1.30 am in the morning, it would not take much to 'distress' a young female, who I suspect would have also had a few drinks under her belt. And if she was so upset, you would have thought she would have made her way to the cop shop by now.
An over-reaction by the club is the last thing we need. Until anything else is proven, punish him based on the facts, which at the moment have him having a pretty harmless run in with the cops after having a few too many.

I chose to remain silent until the facts come in and reserve judgment. I have heard rumours and will leave them as rumours for the time being.
I am angry for the (real and perceived) damage to the club, team, supporters and sponsors.
But a question needs to be asked by the club. If a group of players are at the Clovelly and are ejected, why did the group allow Pearse to go out? Did they know he was heading to the Cross or did Pearse tell them he was heading home? This should be a question the club finds the answer to ASAP as this talks culture and supporting your team mates.Written and published on behalf of the Liberal Party, Queensland

The sad part is they don't seem to respect the position they are in with the club, their other team mates and perhaps the limited opportunities that come along to win a premiership with a gun roster including the presence of SBW for a second premiership tilt.
And to think Pearce and Cordner are part of the leadership group. Boy have they let everyone down bigtime !!
Smith and Anasta had the same trouble with drinking all the time players, and drunk players.
Players plastered on Sat night can't front up for training on Mon morn in top shape.
Players drinking alcohol all the time are not the best athletes they can be.
Cordner on the 'turps'? bad idea, and could explain his form against the Eels etc.
Can't see us winning the comp now, with all this going on and with what's been revealed.
The fans will not be happy with what has been discovered.

This could be the wake up call the club needs. Hopefully SBW and Mini tear these guys a new one and we move on with renewed focus

Here you go, i'll fix it for you.
Can't see us winning the comp now, with all this going on and with what's been revealed...unless things change.
Hopefully things will change.
You too should be glum, to find out many of the players are back on the drink to excess.
I'll be demanding change...and bet I won't be alone.Last edited by bondi-boy; 05-12-2014, 09:58 PM.
