What I know for sure, whatever has happened is being sensationalised by the media. Channel 9 have the footage, their reporters have seen it, yet they are holding it back until 6pm tonight. They already had it yesterday.

A reporter from 9 was on the Grill Team this morning and basically said the footage didn't show much, other than that there was an incident.

Again, not a good look and bitterly disappointing. If any of what I have heard comes out as true, then he has to be sacked. But fortunately they are all just rumours at the moment. The media are making a huge deal out of this, which is unfortunate as they should be celebrating the life of an immortal.
What have you heard? If you don't want to say can you PM me?

I have heard things from a good mate who works with another club, he's directly involved with the player group on a daily basis. By no means is what he has told me fact, just what the other clubs players are saying. Don't feel comfortable sharing it on a public forum or with people I don't actually know.

We'll just leave it at, if one of the issues is true and it comes out, he will definitely be sacked. The other issue has been revealed in the media (i.e. the interaction with a female patron).

Embattled Roosters half-back Mitchell Pearce is seen to lunge at a woman before sitting back in his chair and laughing during an incident at a Kings Cross nightclub on the weekend which was caught on CCTV.
Pearce said he knew the woman when he was arrested and escorted out of the Beach Haus Nightclub by police at about 1:30a, on Sunday.
“On the CCTV footage Pearce gets up and reaches out towards the woman who jumps back and then he sits back down laughing,’’ said a police source.
He said its difficult to see if he makes any contact with the woman who is clearly startled.

Police are not seeking to interview Pearce at this stage unless the woman, who hasn’t been identified, comes forward and makes a complaint.
The CCTV footage is still be scrutinised by police.
The NSW Integrity Commission has also contacted police to find out if any charges are to be laid.
As a result of his arrest, Pearce’s State of Origin hopes are in serious doubt and his long-term future is also unclear.
In another black eye for rugby league, Blues Origin coach Laurie Daley confirmed the 25-year-old’s standing as the incumbent NSW half-back would be reviewed after police called for witnesses into the incident.

Crime of the Century for sure. Using terms such as "visibly distressed" throughout the process is just pathetic and unfair from reporters.

so it sounds like the young lady involved holds the key to whether the matter gets taken any further now.

I wonder if its a case of Pearce being blind drunk and lunging out at a girl he believed he knew and obviously didn't judging by her reaction that was not the case, certainly doesn't excuse his actions though.

This is sounding very much like media outlets getting as much play as they can from a D&D by an unliked, high profile player.

If there is more to it, the police will address it and he takes what's coming to him.

My concern is the NRL reacting to a media story rather than a legal matter.

Exactly. The police will deal with it. But try telling the media that. Anyone would think it's the media's job to gather evidence and charge and convict under the law.

If they dont report it so dramatically, then nobody would be talking bout it.
