Yes he drops the odd bomb but I've seen him catch plenty and he would have to improve his work rate/positional play but you can fix those things.

To my eye he just lacks that top speed the great fullbacks have.

He is top class though and I think could play anywhere in the backline and still be a rep player, including 5/8.
He'd be no slower than Greg Inglis.

I think GI is deceptively quick, his strides are probably two of shecks. Plus he has more power and THAT fend.

Well besides winning the odd premiership with us that is.

If they're going back to RU, then there's not much good building a team around them for the future [except SKD and Moa, they're here to stay]...might as well invest the time in Aussies who are staying here.
RTS is good but he's not at his best yet...it's in the future he promises to be.
No way I'd be dropping Maloney to fit him in as 5/8.

Olympic Gold is overrated in sports like RU, tennis etc.
A big percentage of players coming through these days are of Polynesian background.

        No choice really.

He has power & strength which is why he doesn't need speed. He creates his own space and his own linebreaks. Same can be said about a player like Dugan.

Speedsters like Slater & Stewart need the space to be created for them, and if you give them half a gap it's their explosive acceleration & speed that gets them into the clear.

RTS falls into the former, it's his footwork & agility that creates the opportunities.

Jaryd Hayne is just a freak, he's got it all.

Once Inglis winds up how many times has he been caught over the years?

And like milanja said Inglis is a monster, would be close to 110 kg.

Not bagging RTS just from watching him since the 20's it's only thing I can pick on him about.

He is pure class but no doubt lacks that step of speed.

Exactly. If he was better under the bomb he would be our fullback right now.

He will handle fullback ok.But the position he will excel at in this game is 5/8.As a fullback he is limited as to the time the football is in his hands,at 5/8 hes the play-maker running, stepping he has a great passing game bullet like passes but you don't get to see that side of him often as he is on the wing sometimes you see it when he chimes into the back line when playing fullback in attack.Don't worry about the kicking, this kid is super talented and we have some great past exponents of it at this club to refine his skills.

Why? We already have a premiership winning 5/8 who ensures the vast majority of our tries are 6points. We dont need a 5/8. We need a fullback.

I have a feeling Sheck will be playing a bit og 5/8th this week

He makes me nervous under the high ball.

Forget this. He has speed fullstop!

I think his passing game is untested.
