  • how many Roosters get picked for NSW?

    whats everyone's thoughts?

after the win against the tigers, I thought we would get 5 players picked as they would have gone for Pearce and then our left side combo of Cordner/Maloney/Jennings/Tupou.

despite Pearce being the best option for NSW at half back, I don't know why but I get the feeling his weekend bender might be the excuse Daley uses to go another direction, whether it is the vermin halves or the doggie halves who really cares.

but what it might do is cause a chain reaction to our origin hopefuls to the point only Cordner ends up being picked.

will be interesting to see what team Daley/Fulton come up with on Tuesday.

it would be an interesting turn of events if when we play the doggies next Friday night that they infact are more impacted by origin with Josh Morris/Josh Reynolds(bench utility/or at 6) virtual certainties and the possibility Hodkinson/TRex might also be picked.

what was a period many roosters fans feared could actually become a positive for the club and an opportunity to consolidate a top 4 position.

Id pick young hoppa on the right wing, he is versatile and has played right wing with manly, toops and taufua are both left wingers and morris will have that sewn up.

    Combo wise id have
    Dugan
    Morris
    Morris
    Hayne
    Hoppa
    Reynolds
    Hodgkinson

They are the form halves and also a goalkicker.

    Cordner the only chook.

I still think we'll have 5 - provided Toops is comfortable on the right wing.

But I'd be more than happy if we only ended up losing Jennings and Cordner - our two certainties imo.

Toops has made it clear he is not ready for Origin in his interviews. I think he's quite nervous at the prospect to be honest even though he was brilliant in the grand final. Origin is twice as scary as a grand final. Michael Jennings can talk him up all he likes as he is being a good team mate, but Daniel has made it clear he's not ready. I read an article the other day about Laurie Daley stating he will not choose younger players and put pressure on them because Jack Gibson chose him before he was ready and he missed a conversion in front of the posts and was just a bundle of nerves all night. He said he will never put another player through that and he'll be choosing experienced players. Me personally, I don't want any of our players at Origin because I'm selfish and only care about the Roosters.

I expect at least 4, maybe 5 Roosters players chosen.

Once again those dirty dogs have the luxury of playing a weakened Roosters side. Greenturd again did his best for his former club. They also play Manly during origin.
It's a disgrace. If Reynolds, Morris, Hodkinson and Williams were chosen for origin, the Roosters would destroy these imposters by 30. They are a grubby club with no morals .

You're forgetting an incumbent Australian backrower.

I can't wait to hear the doggies fans bitch if we have Pearce and Maloney during origin and beat them. Also if they beat us without our halves they will completely ignore how we were weakened. They are the most fickle fans in the comp, many dogs fans I know thought they were going to win the premiership after they beat us in round 5.

And as for picking Reynolds and Hodkinson as NSW halves, that will be fun to watch. I have never seen either of them throw a long ball half as good as Maloney's to Toups when Cordner scored last week, or a pass as crisp as Pearceys when he puts our 2nd rowers clean through almost every game. The doggies forwards are their playmakers

If players get overlooked because of Mitch, they're sure to resent him for it.

Irrespective of what he did, the consequences are distabilising.

Doesn't do much to alter my feeling that he's a bit of a dill.

Apparently Pearce was not the no1 choice for Blues halfback even before last weekend.

They wouldn't pick Roosters players anyway unless they had to?

Only a dill when on the booze, seems to me.
Of course he's not alone there, alcohol makes dills of many people.

Hadley said on his morning show the other day that LD "likes to be liked", ...and that he now has an out.
