State of Origin is a great spectacle. It doesnt matter who you 'claim' you will be supporting, you will always end up hoping the Blues get over the line, especially if it's a tight game, and even more so if you are at the ground. This being if you are a New South Welshmen of course.

This year however i would rather Queensland win, especially if Reynolds and Hodkinson remain the halves. As has been previously posted, the barrage that will be unloaded unto Pearce if NSW win would be relentless. I can imagine plenty of comments along the lines of: 'all it took was to drop Pearce to win the series, Daley you genious'.

Hopefully Queensland win this year, the dogs halves get shown up and people might realise it wasnt Pearce's fault after all.

No matter. He has a premiership.

Bigtime! Hope NSW get smashed! Go QLD, and that toocan daley can go fu$k himself with that fake ass hair of his. Roosters 13 plus on friday and Pearce man of the match no doubt. This will get our season on track. Couldnt give a flying fu&k about origin with our halves snubbed.... That said, hope toups, jenko and guerra have good games will do a world of good for the mighty roosters.... back to back! Whos with me???

Reynolds and Hodgkinson will cop the same garbage mark my words. The mouth-breathers and keyboard heroes on League Unlimited will be tearing them to shreds within seconds of QLD's obliteration of the NSW team.
I don't know about you but those two flaws are two pretty big flaws for a halfback. A part from decision making and kicking, there isn't much else mate. Decision making and kicking encompasses about 80% of the role, and even more depending on how you define things

Anyway as for the thread, I won't be cheering for QLD, but reading the comments on social media make me realise how stupid the average fan is. It's a pretty damn average blues squad IMO. Yet, somehow people are calling it one of the best ever. I hope SOO1 shows that whilst Pearce hasn't been great at Origin, there aren't really any other options and that Reynolds and Hodkinson are average. It's clear that the Dogs are going well because of their forwards. I fail to see how Hodkinson will do anything at SOO

I totally agree Chook. He doesn't have the right skill-set for a halfback. I've said for a long time that he should put on some bulk, improve defence a bit more and become a lock/hooker like his old man.

The people calling it a great squad are stupid and also so desperate for a blues win that they will cling on to any semblance of hope. Heck, many people wanted Carney there no matter what, even though he is running around on half a hamstring. And like always, if they lose (llikely) they will condemn them again like the mouthbreather's they are.

At Origin level he can look like a lost chook (no pun intended) but he certainly displays the quality of a star halfback at club level. His kicking game improved dramatically towards the end of last season, was a much better ball runner and had those slick untouchable passes that kept putting forwards over the line.

Unfortunately it hasn't worked out as well so far this year and he never seems to be able to do the same at Origin level. He definitely does have characteristics of a good hooker.

Ive never said that I would swap Maloney but the facts are that Reynolds form has been outstanding this year & he is not injured like Maloney is.

Malonys form slump has cost Pearce his 1/2 back spot for NSW.
Reynolds this season has been playing behind a huge, aggressive, metre eating pack, whereas our team has been playing behind a pack that handles itself well until our starting props leave the field of play. I believe we need another experienced hard nosed prop like the one we let go last year, we seem to be spending a lot of time defending inside our own half and too little time attacking in our oppositions half.

As a Queenslander AND a Roosters Fan, I'll definately be going for the Maroons but hoping that Jennings & Tupou score a try. As far as the halves go, I hope they get monstered.
