Who: Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs v Sydney Roosters
    When: Friday, May 23 – 7:45pm
    Where: ANZ Stadium
I Can Watch It On: Channel 9

    Form Guide:
    Bulldogs: WWWWWWWLWL
    Roosters: LWWWLLLWWL

    Things You Need To Know:
Moses Mbye and Reni Maitua are the new halves for the Bulldogs as Trent Hodkinson and Josh Reynolds are on Origin duty. Krisnan Inu will also make his first appearance for the Bulldogs in 2014.

Mitchell Pearce makes his return from a one week club-imposed ban. With Michael Jennings and Daniel Tupou also in the NSW Origin team, Samisoni Langi and Mitch Aubusson will be the Roosters Centre pairing.

    Reason To Watch:
James Maloney and Mitchell Pearce will be the focus to see how they perform after being dumped from the NSW Origin side.

    Reason To Turn Away:
State of Origin has taken many good players out of this game. If this game had have been played last week, it would have been a candidate for game of the year.

    Say What:
“We need Pearcey to come back and play good footy for us. He leads us around, he gives us direct and kicks well and I think everyone is looking forward to watching Pearcy play this week.” Roosters Coach Trent Robinson on the return of half back Mitchell Pearce. Hopefully for his sake, he does play well.

    Final Word:
With a new halves pairing, it is hard to see the Bulldogs putting up many points this weekend. The return of Pearce will give the Roosters the firepower they lacked last week. Pearce and Maloney must play well. If they cannot out perform Mbye and Maitua this week, they would have been no chance against Thurston and Cronk next Wednesday. Roosters by 12.

Both teams look very evenly matched except in the halves, the dogs forwards ball play very well which will help cover for their halves..
It'll come down to kicks and possession, Easts have been poor in both area's in 014.

Head Coach Trent Robinson has confirmed his side for tonight's clash with the Canterbury Bulldogs, including two debutants in a new-look side following Rep Duty and Injury resulting in a host of changes for the Round 11 clash at ANZ Stadium.

In a handful of changes to the side named in Tuesday's sportsbet.com.au Team Announcement, Robinson has also named Under 20s speedster Nene Macdonald on the wing for his debut.

Macdonald has previously represented PNG, at last year's Rugby League World Cup, and was also a member of this year's QLD Maroons Under 20s State of Origin side.

Macdonald's inclusion sees Shaun Kenny-Dowall shift back to his preferred role at centre from the wing, where the Kiwi International was named to start on Tuesday.

In other changes, Daniel Mortimer has dropped off the bench and his place taken by Samisoni Langi who was named to start at centre on Tuesday.

          Heath L'Estrange is 18th man.

Roosters (1-13): Anthony Minichiello, Nene Macdonald, Mitchell Aubusson, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, James Maloney, Mitchell Pearce, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Jake Friend, Sam Moa, Dylan Napa, Sonny Bill Williams, Frank-Paul Nuuausala

Bench (14-17): Samisoni Langi, Isaac Liu, Kane Evans, Remi Casty

If we are to reclaim our position as genuine title defenders, we must win tonight. We're playing a weakened bulldogs team surely we must win

a very good win by the NYC boys, considering they were without Hastings/Meehan/MacDonald
