I would be surprised if they let Pearce go.
And the fact Morts can't get a start elsewhere shows how little other clubs think of him.

He'd be a walk in starter at most clubs.
Kid deserves a career.
Good luck to him. He's been very loyal to this club.
And we should wish him all the best.
Though I will feel sorry for him if it's at Canberra.

The Raiders need a running 5/8, Campese is on ancient legs. They are banking on Cornish and hoping Campese will play a Jason Smith type role given he couldn't outrun me.
I'll tell you who it won't be, Jeff Robson. Anyone catch Monday night? He was worse than hopeless.
I'd love it to be Reynolds, lol @ souffs fans would go apeshit.
If it's Morts, good luck to him.
Chook.

Raiders target Daniel Mortimer
The Raiders have become the game's big spenders and after nabbing James Tedesco on Tuesday and narrowly missing Proctor, they aren't finished yet. Their next target - Roosters and former Eels grand final halfback Daniel Mortimer. The talented Mortimer can't get a start at the Roosters - particularly now that halves Mitchell Pearce and James Maloney have missed the boat at State of Origin.
Mortimer is being wasted in the NSW Cup and the Roosters are unlikely to stand in his way - and the move could even come before the June 30 transfer deadline.

I'd love to see Morts get a shot somewhere else, it's a shame to see him playing in reserve grade after doing such a good job for us last year but he's a victim of circumstances. The game is changing and the need for all-forward benches seems to be more prevalent than ever. Especially without a proven, seasoned performer like LOD, taking 3 props into a game on the bench seems to something that Robbo has been tinkering with of late.

Here's looking at you, kid.
