Alcohol, it removes everything. Looks, honor, talent, integrity. What hope has a kid got when the bloody sport is sponsored by the piss? The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!
Here's looking at you, kid.

Taumata should be on display at Allianz tomorrow, in the rain...for Newtown...3 matches tomorrow.
I want 'reserve grade' played on match day instead of the 20s.
Tricky being a 'playmaker'...if you run the ball often they call you a hog, and if you pass it all the time they tell you to run it more.Last edited by bondi-boy; 05-30-2014, 09:10 PM.

FFS, first Ferguson and now this galoot.
He is an adult, and like all adults it boils down to personal responsibilty for your actions, regardless of your past or your troubles. I have at least a handful of friends who have had horrific childhoods, who have their problems and their addictions and their demons but have never inflicted their own issues on society.
FFS...you have a choice as to whether you will or will not phisically assault someone. You have a choice as to whether you will or will not sexually assault someone. Its not the alcohols fault, its not the drugs fault, its not anyones fault but your own. if you do.
Absolution of personal responsibility is a cancer these days, as has led to the mindless, litigious, disrespectful and selfish society we find ourselves in.
I don't want these two anywhere near our great club.

Fans could tell stories about the sins of former players when they were playing for our great club, and the sins of former players of other clubs..much of it detailed in the newspapers etc.
The brains of young people are not full developed as to risk-taking, deep thought as to consequences ['personal responsibility' I add] etc until they are age 25...psychologists stated when the Bali9 etc were on trial in Indonesia.
What age is Taumata now?
Yes, 25.
IMO, when the NRL and NRL clubs sign young players into their rugby league family they have a duty of care to them for 'life'.
Idris for example.
It'd be so easy to just boot him out of the Panthers, the NRL, and RL altogether..."bye bye have a nice life"...and get a new player to replace him...plenty of new players around.
The easy way out is certainly not the best way out ...best thing to do is try and help the players get their lives back on track.

July 2013
SOUTH Sydney Rabbitohs star George Burgess has been banned for two games and fined $10,000 after being charged over a smashed car window in Cairns.
Souths will impose the sanctions after jointly determining the appropriate penalty with the NRL.
Burgess will also pay for the cost of the damage, undergo an anger management program and commit to a further 50 hours (in addition to his existing commitments) of community support work through Souths Cares.
Burgess has been charged with two counts of wilful damage to property by Queensland police.
“George accepts he’s done the wrong thing and that there has to be a price,” Rabbitohs chief executive Shane Richardson said today.
“We will support him because he has faced up to what he has done and because this isn’t reflective of his general behaviour at the club.

The Burgess brothers , including George, sure seem to the the NRL's and media's favourite sons.Last edited by bondi-boy; 06-01-2014, 10:43 AM.

How can you compare that to shoving your hand up a random womans skirt in a pub unprovoked a la Ferguson?Last edited by Steakface; 06-01-2014, 10:46 AM.

. That is a lawyers job - to defend the client at all costs, including tenuous and sometimes irrelevant evidence to paint an overall impression of innocence. Surely you are not that naive?
If they break the law or the rules, they must face the repercussions.
Singapore would've hanged Schapelle Corby...Indonesia did not, basically gave her a second chance at life [unlike others they've execution-shredded for drug offences].
In RL, like overseas, it seems to depend just who you are and where you are as to what the consquences of your sins are.
George Burgess, famous, smashed a car window, ..fine, suspension...now a big NRL star and still playing for Souths.
Zane Tetevano, not so famous, smashed a cab window [punched it after an argument with his partner, didn't mean to break it]...sacked from the Knights.
http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/l...514-zrchg.html
The court heard Tetevano lost his temper after an argument with his then partner.
Court documents show the Merewether 23-year-old punched the glass panel on April 28.
He has since apologised to the driver and paid the $500 damage bill.
‘‘The Knights will however provide the appropriate duty of care for Tetevano as he transitions out of the club,’’ the Knights said in a statement.
‘‘The NRL Integrity Unit is aware of the matter. The club wishes Tetevano all the best for the future.’’
#####
Does Tetevano get another chance to play in the NRL... or has he just been kicked out forever?
Would we sack one of our props for doing that? and provide the appropriate duty of care for them as they transitioned out of our club?Last edited by bondi-boy; 06-01-2014, 11:09 AM.
