    • Overall, a very disappointing night, we are so far away from the top teams its not funny. Tries off kicks are always a lucky dip, tonight a couple came off, but that wont happen all the time, our defence was terrible up the guts, holes everywhere, FPN was the worst offender, Newtown for him next week, for me, would love to have that young Mamo at our club, what a prospect he is. Napa, is in a slump, he is getting man handled in the middle, maybe time to give Evans a go, and see how he aims up. Young Meehan did well in his first game in the top grade, did enough to suggest he is going to be a handful, when he gets some experience under his belt.Souths, Manly, Penrith and Doggies, would of rolled us lastnight, Robinson has a lot of work to do, its a worry at this time of the season to be playing so badly. Its time he starts penalising dumb penalites say $200 a go, to go to the Steggles charity fund, because the same idiots give away the same penalities every week, and never learn from it.

      • I disagree with all of the doomsaying. Sure we were terrible in the first half (on a cold Sat night without 4 of our best players), but we went on to pick apart a Newcastle side who were absolutely on their game on the night.

For the most part Newcastle's sliding defense was close to impenetrable, so we changed tack and went for attacking kicks. That went on to open up the defense and we began running plays and scoring.

This Newcastle side went all the way with Manly and (I think) Melbourne, right? Narrowly losing both.

I enjoyed the win. I enjoyed seeing a class side turn their fortunes around in a 45 minute period to win an uncomfortable match, comfortably.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

        • Napa is still an U20s player being worked on. Like Evans a lot of their intial hits don't stick.

FPN was absolutely atrocious last night worst on the field by quite a bit.

          • Been reading a few of the threads on here.

I have a question for all the Einsteins who said on the threads.."with the bye next week we will be on top of the ladder with or without Souffs'.

            Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm................................ .................................................. .................................................. ..............???????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????

What if Penrith, Bulldogs and Manly get the 2 points next week too?

Oh that is right Penrith will get the 2 points as I believe they have the bye that will take them to 22 points. Likewise if the Bulldogs get the two points next week won't that take them to 22 as well? Thirdly Manly have a chance to be on 22 points by the end of next weekend as well.

Or do we get 4 points for our bye next week?

umm yeah i am pretty happy with that against a side that has gone within range of knocking over the Storm, Bulldogs and Manly.

Also OK with a team in mid season that is one win off leading the comp with two byes in hand - four high quality players out including two of the best backrowers in the comp and a team who still have a stack of room to improve on their current performances.

The high competition phase starts in 10-12 weeks lets hope we continue to build to that.

Please don't bring logic into this forum. I'm not used to it. We all know Penrith, dogs and manly are going to lose

                • During SOO and with a wet ground any win is good. The Knights are close to a win and they will not run last (Raiders or Sharks).
2nd half we just stuck to the basics and that was enough.
                  The week off is welcomed.
