The world's a strange place. Who knows maybe, in a few years time when there are different circumstances, he comes back and we benefit from him establishing himself with another club. Stranger things have happened.

Moga was @ the captain's run today.

Wonder if anyone is under an injury cloud?

no one in doubt, Robbo just likes to warm up one forward and one back on match day as insurance, so would think TauTau will be 19th man tomorrow night.

the only question is who out of Morts and Evans drops off the bench with Meehan a confirmed starter.

You'd think Evans would be ahead of Meehan in the pecking order. So if Meehan is a confirmed starter logic dictates Evans would be too.

4 middle third players does seem a bit excessive. Meehan may possibly spend some minutes in the 2nd row although we're quite vulnerable if we were to suffer an injury in the 2nd row, 3/4's or halves.

If Evans was ahead of Meehan then surely he would have been 18th man last week.

            Unless he had an injury?

I suspect Meehan being 18th man was purely for the game day experience - preparation, warmups, recovery etc etc. keeping in mind that Robbo knew we'd be short players due to Origin. It would've been a good insight for him.

Meehan was in NZ until Thursday last week watching his old man take out the Super 8 title, he was always a long shot to actually get a spot in the team, short of someone actually getting injured.

The Roosters must be pretty confident that Ferguson will be registered to play by the NRL.
A risk given the time for Ferguson to potentially derail between now and next season...

Moga is 18th man. Won't play for Newtown. Kane Evans has dropped off the five man bench and will play for Newtown tomorrow.

I can understand dropping Evans back to Newtown to continue his development with extended minutes, but I'm scratching my head as to why Moga would be promoted to 18th man, why bother if the club has told him that he is not required next year.

Obviously we're in win now mode.

If Moga gives us the best chance as the next in line then pick him. No point picking someone else with a view to the future.

And apparently he asked for a release.

I wonder if Moga will come into the centres and Aubo playing in his more comfortable position of 2nd row,I'm hanging to see what Moga could do running off SBW he did pull a swiftly on the dogs by playing Nene Macdonald a few weeks ago.

I suspect he only asked for a release to possibly ice a deal before 30/6....given the word is he wasn't in our plans for next year.

Foolishly on our part of course.

                            Physical and mental.

Injury free, the kid has all the physical attributes. But mentally, he is absolutely nowhere near where he needs to be for FG. And Im not talking about mental scarring from his knee injuries.

When he made his FG debut (wing from memory) there was a passage of play where he got beaten on halfway and just stood there. Then he began to jog back whilst the ball carrier was sprinting on the way to scoring. Moga had given it up. In the end the ball carrier got ankle tapped or fell over about 5 metres out. It was so clear that if Moga had of turned and chased like he should have, he would have been there to stop the guy from scoring. But because Moga was ambling back, the guy got back to his feet and made his way to the line and scored. That was the first time I began to doubt him.

I have seen nothing to convince me since that the mental attitude of his game has improved. Some players have great mental awareness. I dont think this kid does. Even when he plays for Newtown he never goes looking for the ball. He stays put and waits for it to come to him. And yes, invariably when he does get it he does something special with it. I compare him a little to Sia Soliola. A great physical presence, without the mental aspect to compliment his game. Not game smart.

Anyway, like Mighty Rooster, I trust Trent Robinson. If he wanted Moga or believed in the hype, he would find a way to keep him.

If Moga goes I wish him all the best and would love to see him prove me wrong.
Why do we seem to bring this incident up constantly when refer to tautau? It was a couple of years ago when the kid was 19 and hadn't played a hand full of FG games yet. Not every player comes in at such a young age and is the complete package. In fact I'll say no player has ever come in at 19 and been both an attacking threat and a more then confident and reliable defender.
Even the good players like Hodges and the like who have had multiple knee injuries have taken time to fully get there confidence back so why is it so hard to believe that a 20 yr old would be a little hesitant to go looking for the footy in his first 5 games back?
I just can't believe we worked so hard to rid the club of f$&kwhits over the last few years and now look certain to sign arguably the biggest f$&kwhit out there at the expense of Moga who we put so much time and effort into

I will tell you why, because most of these U20s "stars" are absolutely well below crap as defenders and pea hearts.
While I agree with you about the f#$kwit thingy, I am sick of seeing the numbers of real "footballers" dwindling in the game
