Why does Brenton Lawrence always talk himself up against the Roosters? Just read an article and he says we dont intend on just waiting for jwh we intend to take it to him....
Correct me if im wrong but isnt he just an average old prop? Why would you give us even more motivation? I believe the good props just go out and get the job done... Jwh, moa, scott, miles.... Anyway cant wait to see lawrence get smashed again!

I would have laughed if Lawrence just said...JWH n Moa are going to steamroll us. Really don't know what the OP was expecting? The politically correct approach of not talking yourself up and trotting out the tired old cliches like "They are a great team and tough pack, etc."

I prefer it when players speak more openly. Any bloke who is competitive in a combat sport will be thinking they can smash their opposite otherwise why would you bother turning up?

Their pack may not have many big names in it, but it has plenty of heart, which is what wins games. There aren't many teams in the comp that have won the upfront battle against them. Our blokes will have to be at their best to get over the top of them.

Manly don't tend to carry passengers in their 17 - every one of their players puts in most weeks. Every one of the 17 we put on the park will have to do the same if the Chooks are to win. And that hasn't always happened this year.

We have struggled in most of the first 40 min against most teams this season due to opponents quick line defence but love to see us to get quicker play the balls and a tad deeper in and around the ruck area against manly and a fair go in receiving penalties. We are the premiers so we should beat them regardless at Brooky - we beat them with 12 men last year !
