thursday night football back for rounds 23-26

hope we don't get any of the Thursday night matches heading into the finals, its a great way to ruin the routine/rhythm of a team.

apparently the entire draw for round 21-26 will be released this afternoon.

there was an article in the SMH last week saying that channel 9 was tossing up between Friday and sunday for the Bunnies match in round 26

if any sense prevails it will be Friday night giving both team who are likely to be in the top 4 the appropriate time to prepare for a Friday night semi final the following week rather than a 5 day sunday to Friday turnaround.

I'm not a fan of Thu or Mon night footy - maybe I'm just a traditionalist, just like bringing back the 3pm kickoff for the GF!

If the grand final had been played at 3pm last year, I would have missed it as I was in the first aid room. It was 40 degrees down on the field at that time!

Thursday night games are frustrating because you have to wait extra long to watch the boys go around again. It is even worse when they lose.

I swear all I had was an ice cream sundae outside the stadium..but they never have enough napkins there..

I know where people are getting the idea that Thursday night football is coming back later in the season. There are dummy times and dates on the official draw for those rounds yet to be announced. If you look closely, some say a midnight kickoff..so no reason to panic yet...
