Just to put it in perspective.

In 2002 we lost in rounds 18, 19 and 20. Nobody gave us a hope.
From round 21 we didn't lose a game after that. We finished 4th and won the comp.

In 2010, we lost in Rounds 22, 23 and 24. We finished 6th. Not many gave us a hope to make the big show.
The only game we lost after that was the GF thanks to Archer and Finch.

Last year we were fit from day one. We just had to gel. Plus we had plenty of luck with injuries.
We couldn't take the same path this year because most players were involved in the World Cup plus there was the WCC. Managing player fatigue was always going to be our biggest challenge this year.
IMO Robbo is timing it not to drain the players too much. We are more than close enough to make a late charge. The last few weeks there were glimpses of our attack starting to take shape. Not all our passes are sticking at the moment but some weren't far off. SBW and Moa's passes to Maloney on the weekend were a case in point. A fraction higher and he was under the posts. That's all part of trying to get our attack right. Mistakes will happen.

At full strength we have the best backline in the comp as well as the best pack and bench. IMO there is no depth in this year's comp and I think most know if we click nobody will get close to us. Personally I believe we are cruising under the radar.

It is all about our head space and how much we want it from now on and barring any major injuries of course.

    Over to you Robbo.

    Go Easts!!!

      That was my theory...

...as of Saturday night at 24 nil up vs the wooden spooners.

      I then had to re-evaluate.

I'm not worried about our attack, I'm worried about our intensity.

I'm worried about our inability to play for the entire 80 mins like last season. We seem to fade in the second half of every game. This is not something we can just turn off like a tap at the end of the season, so we need to start putting it into practice now before it is too late.
On a positive note, if we can improve our completion rates, then we will be close to unstoppable!

I will give this thread credence if we lose at home against Penrith

Penrith will be a good test for us.

                  This team needs an enema.

It's nowhere near as bad as losing in Canberra with vautin as skipper. Get a grip.

We weren't defending premiers back then and had been crap for a while, raiders had players such as meninga, Daley, stuart, clyde, chikka, walters and more, sharks had the likes of jeff robson, John morris, and many more I cant name.

Agree that 66-4 was not fun, I was there but was pretty young to let it bother me too much.

You could write off 2014 if there was a single team in the comp actually playing premiership footy. As it stands we outside the top 4 on F/A, and 1 win away from the top 3 FFS. Hardly time to start slitting the wrists. Teams have been in much worse positions than us at this time of year and gone on a run in the finals. No reason why we can't too.

Then again its silly to expect any less from this forum. Half of the idiots on here were still questioning our credentials last year right up until the final whistle in the GF!

That's the bonus of this year, the whole comp seems crap, whether it's the adjustment to the rules or a world cup/nines hangover for everyone, it wont surprise me to see the warriors or penrith take it out. any team in the final 8 this year will have a genuine shot in my opinion.
