If we have our rep players, I feel we absolutely carve them up - continue our 24-0 lead and smash em. That is especially true with Cords, Jennings and Toups, our natural left slide. There is no way that Cronullas right winger scores any try tonight if we had our left edge sliding like they should do. And there is also no way that Feki score his try off the bomb if RTS or Mini are on the wing like normal.

I believe that Mini is integral to our defence, but we still win that game easily without him, at full strength.

All this does is severely question our depth. If we played a cronulla side at full strength without any off-field issues, and got run down like we did, considering the inexperience of our backline then it would be half-acceptable. But the sharks were just as inexperienced in that department as we were, and to get blown away like we were is very concerning about the players we have coming through.

It really shows how important the likes of Guerra, Cordner, Jennings, Tupou and RTS are to our side. Week in, week out these men perform to a high standard, and whilst it is unfair to heavily criticise the likes MacDonald and Elliot, it will be very worrying if we have to rely on them in a big match.

As are DCE, JT Hayne and co for their teams. Been happening for over 30 yrs now. BUT we played a very poor team last night, and there is no excuse for that loss, with THAT lead.

Sharks had a few players out last night as well. Difference is, they played with balls, our guys played like over-rated millionaires.

Well said mate, the Sharks' celebration at full-time is something our boys should take a hard look at.

Footy is all about heart and leaving nothing in the tank for your mates around you. This is something SBW touched on many times last year, and we won a premiership. By judging some of the attempted tackles tonight, the commitment of last year just doesn't seem to be there at the moment, and I'm starting to worry that it won't at all in 2014.

That statement got me thinking RWBL. Are they saving some for a real step up in performance in the last few rounds and continue on a roll into the finals?

I think it is more to do with that if you don't show the opposition respect & you are not willing to give your all for the full 80 minutes that any team on any day can be beaten by a less fancied team.

Jenko's try scoring ability largely overshadows his defensive brilliance. The way he's helped mould Toups from a gangly fringe first grader to a State of Origin mainstay in one year is testament to his talent.
                SUPER DRAGON!

Perhaps, but if the rumours of unrest and discontent between the boys happen to be true, I'd say unless it was figured out at the camp last week, we won't see a step up in performance in 2014. I hope I'm wrong

Great post, spot on! I cant believe how good Jennings has defended since he came to the chooks
