The best compliment I can pay him is to say he was brilliantly unique...its hard to say about any player "He's like Andrew Walker".#We Stand with ourJewish community#

The other thought that comes to mind when comparing those two sets of backs is the evolution from footballer to the conditioned athlete in our sport.
Walker Lam and Fittler were naturally talented footballers. Today's player is more the generalist athlete with more stereotyped coaching as a function rather than fostering individual talent.
I know I get criticised for my Brian Smith love but on a serious note I think one reason Smithy didn't sustain success later in his career was being caught at that time of the changing of the guard in coaching and preparing athletes rather than footballers.#We Stand with ourJewish community#

SKD has scored 90 odd tries, but how many has he let in? I would say that it is up around 200. He was responsible for two tries that the sharks scored, including the last match winning try for them. I have had enough of his inconsistency of making simple mistakes and letting in tries, I know that we are chasing english winger Joe Burgess, hopefully we can get him for next year and let skd go at the end of this season.
I think though that we will have to endure skd for one more year, before getting Joe Burgess in 2016.The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!
Here's looking at you, kid.

I've asked it before and I'll ask it again, who the **** is Joe Burgess? Some English world beater? I'd much rather the proven SKD over some pom.
As for inconsistencies well SKD has been our most consistent all year, he's a tackle bust king and is finding the line a lot and his handling has improved. He also played the majority of the last two years injured, while no excuse it would have hindered his ability.
I remember saying last year that SKD would return to career best form, I'm glad to have been proven correct.

Joes Burgess is a 19 year old winger for Wigan and shows heaps of potential!! I certainly would much rather him than skd, who is proven to let in many tries and make plenty of simple errors.
skd is not our most consistent player this year. I believe without a doubt that Moa and Friend have been far more consistent than him! skd is not back to his 2010 form, that is for sure!
Feel free to believe in what you like Mr Cage, I know you will. I realize you are a big fan of skd and that's cool. As you know I'm not a big fan of his.The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

It was definitely both skd and casty's fault for letting little robson power his way through the both of them, no one else's fault. The other try skd was caught out of position, he should have been back for the kick but instead was up and it is much much easier to jump forward for the ball than going backwards. Again his fault for being out of position and putting in a lackluster effort at trying to prevent the try.

I don't see why we need Burgess, even if we let SKD go we have players like Macdonald and Milne coming through.
I'd say SKD's been more consistent then Moa, Moa's been great but he's had a couple of shockers this year. Though yes Friend has been our consistent, hasn't had a bad game for two years. Though I reckon SKD is in better form then 2010 simply because his defence is much better, he's attacking at a similar level though.
Outside Fergo next year he'll be a star
1. RTS
2. Tupou
3. Jenko
4. Fergo
5. SKD
That backline is just mouthwatering
