why should us qlders lose a game. remember they haven't been to the coast now since 2010, and earlier this year up verse the drongos, but prior to that it was finals v drongos in 2010.
just send a inner Sydney team up for the game. wests, dullbogs, parra, merge, riff, etc. leave the outer staters out of it.

So far this deal is for only 3 years, even though I think its a good one I would hate to see Easts throw in all this money in the short term to lose the area if the Central Coast Bears get admitted into the comp in the not too distant future.

Just found out a bit more.... Wyong Roos and The Entrance Tigers have made an arrangement from next year to share some of the talent around between Wyong's NSW Cup and The Entrance's Ron Massey Cup sides.

Anyway, it's a smart move by us and I think it was the Edge who summed it up perfectly.

I am sad about Newtown, but this move is well worth it for mine.

I'm an Old Boy Wyong Roo from the late '80 and early '90's. My old man was on the board and club president of Wyong RLFC for a number of years too. On the surface it would seem a perfect match for a Chooks and Roos fan like myself but I feel a bit hesitant about the whole situation.

Below is a post I made on another footy forum about this...

"It's interesting. I can see the logic behind it for the Roosters. The Central Coast is one of Australia's fastest growth areas. I think the population has almost doubled in size in the last 20 years and its hasn't slowed yet. There are thousands of kids up there playing jnr footy compared to a very small amount in the Newtown area, which I think could fall under Souths jnr region anyway.

Does this mean the final demise of one of our original Foundation Clubs in the Jets? I hope not but it doesn't sound good does it?

When Wyong first applied to play in NSW Cup the board were adamant they wanted to go it alone and the last thing they wanted was to be a feeder club for an NRL team. They wanted Wyong jnrs to have a great chance to represent their area and at a high level instead of being denied an opportunity by an NRL clubs reserve graders clogging up the top grade.

Behind probably Tweed Heads and Wests Newcastle, Wyong DRLFC would be the richest club in regional NSW and can easily afford to go it alone in NSW Cup. It now seems we have changed our tune. It's probably the right thing to do so we can remain competitive in NSW Cup but we should be cautious that the Roosters don't overrun our great club and that Wyong can still call the shots on their future moving forward."

Whilst they might be able to stand alone what is the point of the team the players the board if you dont have a path way to NRL which is the ultimate goal, central coast and the bears have buckleys of getting a franchise.

They need reserve graders in their team if they want to go to the next level, its a win win for both parties. I think its very exciting news for Easts fans that will embrace the area and for the central coast.

What feeding from Newtown to us was ever done, to our advantage?
In my eyes it was only ever our players who missed first grade playing in Newtown's NSW Cup side.

The 'Central Coast Bears' will never be happeniing, seems to me...so the NRL fans on the Central Coast now have the opportunity to follow us...the best...the best colours, the best playing strips, and the best run club.

That will never happen. The ESDRLFC members would have to vote on a change to our constitution for that to happen, and I can't foresee a time Easts members would vote to relocate to the Central Coast as a home base.

The Coast economy, like the Illawarra and Campbelltown and even Newcastle, can't or struggle to support an NRL franchise of their own. That's why the CC Bears never made it into reality.

Easts are best placed in commercial terms such as sponsorships and revenue to remain based in Sydney's eastern suburbs and city region, as we have always been since 1908. I can't envisage a time when the shrewd membership and Board of Easts would ever contemplate leaving Sydney.
