  • refs aside where do we go from here?

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm at a loss as to where the team goes from here, the majority of the side are horribly out of form.

not sure if its a case of the players not being fit enough or not having the hunger/desire to repeat the triumph of last season, that extra gear we had last season is no where to be seen.

there is no sign that the 2014 version of the Roosters will be able to flick the switch to perform anything close to the Roosters version 2013.

obviously Jennings will return for Maubs and perhaps Evans for Casty, but is that really going to spark any real form turnaround.

we played very basic tonight... never really tested newcastle... so i strongly believe we have a lot more in the tank and it will show when we play the better teams in the comp.. we just seem to play up to the standards of our opposition and sadly we have lost quite a few close ones that could have gone our way. Also refs usually put the whistle away come finals so that will be a boost also...

Im not panicking yet, we still have enough time to do this and i dont think we have shown our hand yet

Pick Hastings on the bench and hook either half which is playing worse

Where do we go? If we are lucky to make the 8, we will probably endcup playing warriors in nz. Out first week.

How we don't learn from that sharks game is diabolical. Knights even lost mullen for the game, and they still get us. Maloney bombed 2 tries, if the refs aren't on the take then jimmy is a candidate.

I always try to stay positive and look for positives but gee it's getting difficult.

We have been beaten by both wooden spoon contenders, and the raiders game was unconvincing too. Glad you're not panicking, but I hope someone at the Roosters is.

I would love to know what Uncle Nick was thinking after that performance, he is not known for his patience at the best of times, I have no doubt there would be serious behind the scenes discussions going on in regards chasing DCE or Foran for 2016.

on current form there is no way you could offer Maloney an extension beyond the end of 2015.

It's a big psychological hurdle they need to get over. They like us all will be pretty shattered by this loss. Tough night up in Newcastle for all who made the trip up.

Need to be able to finish a game like this and close it down through disciplined play, we made a critical slip at the end giving the last penalty away.

Maloney should have dived for the ball instead of pulling up for the first try he went for but I'm sure he didn't dive because he didn't want to damage his already needled up body even more, but even taking that out of the equation, it was a fair try when he got to the ball on the second attempt, there was no knock on by Maloney anywhere in that play. The second one even though its not so clear he does get the ball down a split second before Newcastle recover enough to put enough doubt in the video refs mind, I am sure the video ref was listening to Joey Johns dribble in the ch9 feed before deciding.

They are not hungry, ill disciplined and are still crowing about being premiers.

There is absolutely no leadership out there. There is no strong minded figure prepared to rip in to his team mates when they give away ridiculous penalties. Those suggesting JWH be captain next yr are kidding themselves.

Penalties kill us. Im sure there were 2 given on the 5th tackle. Diabolical.

Napa and Casty should not be in this team. They do not offer enough. Napa has been poor for a while for mine.

I have been positive after every loss but tonight showed to me that this team is more than happy with 2013. And I dont know where Mitchell Pearces head is at. That guy is so one dimensional. Face ball to Cordner. Try. Thats his play. Without that he seems to struggle for ideas. Lets put up a mid field bomb.

I think he was just trying to make sure he didn't knock it on with the slippery conditions and wet ball. He probably didn't realise that there was a Knights player that close. But as you said, it was still a fair try.

So true, as good as game Jake Friend had he should not have reacted like he did, that really hurt us, we got back in front thanks to FPN's try and should have just closed it down from there.

While some players need a rocket them up i hardly think "panicking" is going to solve anything, besides there's more than enough on here doing that already.

You're right, we get beaten by under strength wooden spoon teams, and the only time we beat contender teams is when they are missing one or both of their halves (dogs, melb and penrith)

I was going to suggest maybe we play without one of our halves for the match, but we saw how that turned out after cowboys match.

We created a lot of chances on our left edge throughout the game, but we miss Jet Boots Jennings to capitalise. The obvious one was when Cordner went through in the first half. Jenko finishes that break under the posts 100 times out of a 100
