Would you say Pearce putting Cordner through untouched against Brisbane this year to win on the bell counts and i also feel there have been times when Pearce has done something good to get the roosters in-front but for the other team to come back and win on the bell for instance Dragons game in 2012. In saying that both halves are playing terribly this year hopefully with SBW out it makes them both stand up because i feel we have gone to SBW too much this year to create and do everything.

Whilst it may not have been as evident as Friday, I believe Pearce has won us many games over time. If you talk recently, the games against Cronulla at home and Dragons away last year were showcases of pure class, whilst the way he took control vs Parra round 2 was amazing. If you are referring to clinching games as they progress, his direction against the Knights at home earlier in the year after a horrible first half and even Penrith a few weeks ago when it was tight both showed his skill of leading us around when it matters.

Pearce gets alot of blame on here, but people fail to see his direction of the side when we win our matches. Experts like sterlo and Joey often talk about this part of Pearce's game, and unfortunately unless he sets up 5 tries every match he will get bagged. That is also why performances like Tyrone Roberts stand out - those sort of players are highly noticeable, and it is often the case that those who do that on occassion appeal to the fans more than players like Pearce who have much more important, pure qualities as halfback then someone like Roberts (who the experts don't discuss as of often as Pearce)

IMO, Pearce has won us many many games, much more then someone like Roberts, Hodkinson, or Josh Reynolds who people seem to rave about (not on here, just in general)

Our forwards are doing their job but he has not developed 5th tackle options in the time he has been at Easts. WTF does he do at training? Sorry but I'm still angry from the weekend and haven't had the site open too vent!!!!
My information, from a good source, is that the halfback was one of a couple of players chatted to by the boss.

You are right Axe that the forwards are doing their job, and I also believe the backs have a multitude of tries in them.

The problem is in the halves...

Maloney and Pearce have both been ordinary this year Vasco. They are not taking control of the team the way premiership winning halves should be doing.

Halves in shit teams with no pressure on them can sometimes do amazing things.

Hastings may want to watch which half backs he idolises, on and off the field.

He has been hopeless this year.
He's very heavily marked by other teams, and tackled hard and late many times, "bashed and smashed", in matches this year.
Other teams that have improved this year.
He can't kick every goal every time...he's not a robot.
He scored a try against the Knights that was disallowed.

He's not the one making all the handling errors, throwing dumb and wayward passes, and missing tackles he should make.

Or coming in off his wing to leave the sideline open?
