I thought and I am probably wrong here the role of the Vidiot this year was to only over rule the onfield decision of the onfield ref if there was absolute proof it was the wrong call, hence why the refs now have to make that call to either give it or not.

Problem with the refs having to make a decision, is that if a try is scored 10m away from the ref and he didn't actually see a try happen, he is still forced to make a try/no try ruling, which then angers supporters when the call goes against you.

Would it not be better that the vidiot makes a decision based on what he actually sees without the influence of the on field ref??
