It has been an ugly comp indeed. They should just can it now and give the trophy to Manly. Save us the pain of sitting through the next 2 months of tedious over refereed predictable rubbish that is this year's comp.

For most teams, losing players in those positions would be tough, but I think it's a blessing in disguise, nrl will now allow sticky to dip into the 2nd tier cap, which is what stuart has wanted for a while.

With the level of footy at finals level already teams are going to need plenty of luck to go the distance.

It's so hard to predict at the moment who will feature in the 8, as there seems to be a host of upsets each round and most sides in contention play each other a few times before season's end.

I'm hoping our boys use the close nature of the comp as motivation to keep motoring through the next 5 games before the finals. This time last year we were assured a top 4 finish, but now we aren't even guaranteed a top 8 spot (not saying I think we won't make it, but mathematically).

Winning the next two games is important to keep pressure off ourselves heading into a tough final 3 rounds.
