  • 3 penalties

Congratulations to yet another team exhibiting almost perfect discipline when, and only when, they play the roosters.

I can't fault the referees - I am certain there were only 3 occasions in 80 minutes on which they had cause to penalise Illawarra.

    Beat me to it mate.

I would love to know the breakdown of our penalties received between first and second half, we barely ever receive any after half time.

There was a blatant penalty by De Belin in the second half missed, other than that they do get off the tackle ridiculously quick (hence why we waltzed down the field with ease all game) so I didn't have a complaint about that. About half of the 8 against us however would not have been blown if it was any other side, there was also at least 6 passes more "forward" than the Friend and Maloney passes so no idea what was going on there either.

Its like they just let things go which are otherwise penalised like head shots, leg pulls etc.

By the way when Guerra played the ball to noone Morris should have been penalised for a late flop

when Aidan made the chargedown, Morris flopped on him. Considering the big break, that's almost a professional foul. No penalty, instead he gets the ball after the play the ball

                It's beyond a joke.

                  Great point.

In half a dozen games this year we've received one or less penalties.

                  Unreal.

There was no one for Guerra to play the ball to so receiving a flopping penalty there would have been absurd, discretionary call which I'm OK with. The lack of support play from our outside backs and halves was the bigger disappointment from all of that, why was Jennings (from the other side of the field) first down there? RTS and SKD nowhere to be seen, lazy!

I love the crackdown on forward passes in the 1st half, chooks pinched twice in the 1st 5mins. I counted 4 against St George in the 2nd half. Unpunished, that's footy as they say..

a dragons fan said to me that if they policed the forward passes like that every week, Melbourne would never get out of their half

Plus Morris wasn't square at marker.

What about putting Jared on report? Please.

If you have a look at the replay of that play the ref was running towards that ruck and continually looking behing him and could see no rooster was close by and all the while he was yelling and waving at the dragons to get up so he could play the play to no one!

it really farked me off the urgency the reft was showing to play the ball

And of course all those forward passes the Dragons threw that weren't penalised were a figment of my imagination.
