  • Good win considering everything.

Injuries and poor calls aside, Easts showed better attitude also Jennings has a game under his belt and played very well. Pearce was much improved.

Looks like jenko is our real x factor, massive to have him back.

A good win against a dangerous Saints team. But we wont be beating Manly if we continue to give away ridiculous penalties. You can only keep doing that for so long before it comes back and bites you. And last yr we were playing so well we could get away with it. Not the case this year.

We had 45% possession. We had a total of 30 sets ( 21 completed) which is 2 less than their COMPLETED sets. We had 46 missed tackles and only 2 line breaks against their 7 breaks, and yet we outscore them 5 tries to 4 !

A turning point of the season I hope.

Not sure if Jimmy had a beauty ...more of a mixed bag.
At least his goal kicking was certainly on tonight !

Although it was great to have him back he looked a bit under done in defence, most of Saints breaks came down Jennings and Nene side, will cut him some slack though because he is a great defensive centre and it was his first game back, he will be so much better with that game under his belt.

Hopefully when toops is back, it will add to his confidence in trusting his winger more.

It's a massive leap from the Unders to first grade but in the 4 games I've seen (other than being hung out to dry at fullback) Nene Macdonald has all the makings of Toups Mk2. If Fergo is his centre next year and they can gel then we will have a dynamite backline.

Looks a good prospect but I saw last night when Junior and Maloney put the high ball up he didn't really dig deep and put the effort in to get there to contest. While I don't mind the tactic, Robbo seems to like it, it would be nice to see them maybe mix it up a bit when kicking from around of just beyond half way

I thought that Maloney seems to be getting better each week & showed signs last night that his form is returning

I think his confidence starts with his goal kicking.

Once a few passes stick he might turn the corner.

Hopefully the Titans game will be our cup of tea and then taking on the next big 3 will tell the story.
If we put them away..we will take out the comp again we are in the same possie as the Chooks of 02 its all achievable

Tigers at Leichardt is a 50/50 game.

They'll be very tough there and I'm more concerned about that and the Warriors game away than the two home games vs the Storm and Souffs.

The penalty count at Leichardt and Auckland... just thinking about it not horrifies me. 10-2 isn't out of the question for either.
