Song for Pearce, Mini, et all...

And no, I am not advocating they commit suicide or go on to co-host Mythbusters.
    SUPER DRAGON!

His major problem is that he can't read a game.

Can't consistently produce the right play at the right time.

I don't know how long you can accept that from your major playmaker.

He won't be for too much longer. Hastings will be that player either next year or the one after.

Pearce is simply a slow thinker. He plays like a champion against weak opposition when he has more time to think about what he is doing. DCE or Thurston on the other hand can process the information around them quick enough to choose and execute the right options despite the opposition.

              Probably.
DCE ain't Cronk or JT though.
              Not even close.

If we got the penalties etc that Manly get Pearce would look a lot better as he'd have more chances.

I remember another teenage halfback prodigy with a famous last name

                Whatever happened to that guy?

Well a mate of mine overheard Robbo talking to POS last night and all they spoke about was how well Hastings went at half back yesterday. Robbo was extremely happy with Hastings.

What struck me about Hastings having watched Newtown play was the way he took control of the team when he went to half back and his vision in the 2 tries he set up.

Here's hoping. But Pearce's career illustrates that there's many a slip between cup and lip.

His & Jimmy's tactical kicking game won us the two points last night. They gave Benji & Widdop a schooling in how to control momentum & exert pressure by playing field position.

Shame so many can't see how good they were and will huff & puff about the fact that we don't have as many 40/20's as *enter x team going well* or as many forced drop outs as *enter x team going well*.

We had 10 less sets than the Dragons yet managed to spend 52 minutes of the game in their half. There's a reason why Robbo comes out & backs Pearce at every chance about all the stuff people don't see. It's just a shame such a solid player will always be so underrated because he's not "creative".

We're suckers for a famous name still.

I fear for the Hasting kiddy. Without having played a minute of first grade you lot are expecting him to step up within a year or two and be the reincarnate of his old man, with a bit of Joey Johns, Thurston, Cronk and DCE thrown in as well.

God help him if he turns out to be just an above average first grader like Pearce.

                              Are you a mind reader?
                              My exact thoughts.

It matters not what the fans think. The problem only arises when management starting treating "just above average" players like royalty.
