time for young mr hastings to get into the first grade mould? its sink or swim at this stage! hes class so I 3expoect hell step up! had no problems with the spotlight partnering freddy in the 9s! or theres the 20s hooker although hes more of an attacking player than jake whos big skill is defence?
you really do have to wonder about the decisions to release key back up players at this stage of the competition?i guess well soon know?

I have seen Kurt K play a fair bit at Newtown and I really think he is a better option and bringing the strange one in to give him a break. He was in favour at the beginning to the year but seems to not be really considered. Langi seems to be in this boat also.
Kane Evans needs to be in the side this week.. he needs a fresh supply of meat 'cause he has been eating up all the reggies.

        Friend Replacement

Personally, I'am for Pearce to meet the Newtown coach, but now Jake is injured, let him go to hooker, and promote Dureau, to 5/8, and move Maloney to halfback. Evans must get the job ahead of Napa this week, he is in terrific form, and deserves a chance to show us something in firstgrade.

Which is exactly why it will be Aubusson at 9.

Stranger, Kara and Hastings aren't battle-hardened for the requirements in defence - it will be Aubusson playing most of the game with a brief stint from Stranger.

                Pearce to rake.

                Do it.

I said the same in an earlier post. Whats the point of signing these players if we don't use them, Le Strange is very average and Dureau was one of the better players in SL before injury.

Your sig has always bothered me somewhat...

I can't see Queensland from where I'm standing, but if it came down to it I could walk there.

                      Shit news.

Probably the one player we can't replace.

I am a fan of morts, but many people think he would have been a suitable replacement for friend atm. I honestly dont think he would have been effective for long stints at hooker. During his brief spells at hooker he would, more often than not, get dominated in defence resulting in a quick play the ball. He is a halfback and not much more imo.

                          100% right.

In tight defensive games Robbo barely used him at times.

Hopefully Maubs is fit and can do a job for us there.

If we are a one man team then we don't deserve to play finals footy.

No man is more important than the next. That said, we have a perfect ready made hooker in Pearce, who can tackle and passes brilliantly. If there were any brains (and testicles) in the coaching ranks, they'd put him there.

Wait, I thought the Pearce to hooker talk for this week was a joke?

                              People are serious?

Why disrupt just one of the two most important positions on the field when you can disrupt both, right!
