Sydney Roosters have terminated the contract of Jake Friend
I can see why it had to be done but fark me we are struggling at 9 now. If Jaubs plays 9 we will have no creativity or running game at dummy half. Agree with the poster that mentioned inconsistency...Gallen must be up to offence 25 and he gets a fine. We really had no choice thoygh given Jakes record and the year we had off the field last year.
Melon mate have you started the Christmas cheer already. Sean Rudder!!! and for you to suggets this!!
Koups aint a first grader let alone a hooker.
And for those suggesting that Fittler told Jaubs not to run from dummy half....I somehow doubt this. Jaubs just doesnt have that dummy half creativity.
Aaron Gorrell - mmmmm no thanks!
Fittler couldnt have told jaubs not to run, he didnt talk talk to the players from rd 2 full stop, jaubs is a halfback, his best games at melbourne were in that postion, i still dont rate the guy
Ben Jones will be our second hooker with Jaubbs now which will give us plenty of creativity...
The talk was that Jones would begin next season in the NYC.. With Friend gone this could be a blessing in disguise.. I reckon Jones would be great off the bench and in time when he builds up his upper body strength, I believe he could become a very good dummy half.
jones may well be the surprise packet for us this seaSON, JAKE YOUVE JUST BLOWN HALF A MILL IN YEARLY EARNINGS, HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT YOUR JOB BACK NOW?

If he is going to be our dummy half then we will struggle. To play this position you need to have speed and power. He has neither. He is a solid player but certainly not a dummy half. He is actually a good five eighth but just not good enough to be a permanent first grader.

Couldnt agree more. If he along with Jaubs are our dummy half options then dont expect 2010 to be any better than this year

Jones is not slow...he's got more speed up his sleeve than Friend or Jaubs...playing in the halves as well ensures he's got decent passing skills..if he's got some good game reading skills he'd make a good hooker...hooker's in the modern day game are playmakers anyway...the idea of him shifting and being developed as a hooker does have some merits...
I think the Aubusson / Jones combination could replicate the Bonetti / Wing combo.
Aubusson could start off as the tough tackling hooker, just get him providing sharp service consistently. Jones could come on to provide spark and inject some pace into the dummy-half position.
