Sydney Roosters have terminated the contract of Jake Friend

If he is going to be our dummy half then we will struggle. To play this position you need to have speed and power. He has neither. He is a solid player but certainly not a dummy half. He is actually a good five eighth but just not good enough to be a permanent first grader.

lol.. and we didn't struggle with Friend? Jones is much faster off the mark than Friend.. Jones was playing with a leg injury last season.. Give him time, he is only 19 or so.. I think Friend was always going to be very limited, he certainly is quite a bit slower than Jones and had a poor work ethic (no scoop) when it came to fitness and of course discipline. Most dummy halves are converted halves, remember Craig Wing? It shows he probably has a decent passing game and vision. Jake Friend was a half back before coming to the Roosters too.
