Best utility in the game, by a mile.
If I was a NSW selector or coach he'd get the no 14 jumper every year.
He never lets anyone down.
Of course SuperMegaBosden is better.

Or you could look at the fact we scored 40 in that second 1/2, a lot of the breaks coming up the middle, with Maubs doing a job again.
And just think how many had Maubs left right out of their pre-cum teams last season. SuperMegaBosden was gonna rule the universe.
Relentless.

Mon night, rain and therefore a small crowd.
Playing a mostly fit side sending their coach out who have a habit of beating us at home. Did so this time last year.
Fell behind twice during the game but were able to come thru when it counted.
Again had 3-4 tries disallowed.
Kept them to nil in the second half under massive pressure.
The best thing IMO was FPN keeping his cool. They niggled him all night. BirdBrain butted him, Fooloon pulled his hair in scrums, every tackle they did their best to make him crack, facials and stray knees. But instead of blowing up he sucked them in for the last two penalties that closed the game down.
Special mention to Stranger and Maubs, they did a great job controlling the ruck.
Reading some of the shit on here I thought we had lost.
We are under the radar. Everyone's piling the pressure on WoManly and Souffs. No one rates us. Not even a lot of our fans.
The coach was happy with our effort and the result. Just gotta beat the Tigpies who enter the game under siege. It's something we've learned to combat now hopefully. The poor downtrodden opposition against the big bad premiers.
Going back2back was always gonna be harder than winning it last season. And we have put ourselves in a great position to have a real crack.
But of course PearceOrf, FPN, SKiD, Mini, Maubs, Frenchy, Stranger etc should all be replaced with children.
I've just been reading for a few weeks, some of the comments have been embaressing, even for this place.
Enjoy the rest of the season whatever it may hold fellow coqqs.
Easts to Win.
The old Wall was relentless until the PR spin doctors got hold of it and sanitized it before finally taking it out the back to be shot and buried in a shallow trench!... And this is the closest living relative the Wall still has!!
This place has a right to be relentless! Everyone here is a Rooster diehard and has a right to be heard, to rant, to vent and to postulate theories, if they wish! Or at least they should have...
More philosophically speaking, I also think relentlessness in demanding success, is essential to the survival of our club in the longer term... The sharks (the metaphorical ones) are circling out there... Who wrote the report on the "NRL player draft", you guessed it, our arch enemy next door... Fat Richo!
Look at the way the Rugby League world is turning under the Dave Smith agenda:
1. Junior player draft to advantage all clubs except for us;
2. Moves so the NRL controls the majority of all club boards including an NRL appointed chairman;
3. If you don't abide by NRL rules, your funding from Head Office is cut off;
4. Junior football to be centrally funded, meaning clubs no longer control their "areas" in junior league; and
5. The NRL to have day-to-day access and control over all club finances, sponsorships, records etc.
This is a move towards turning the NRL from an organisation OWNED BY its members, to an organisation that OWNS its members. Dave Smith's ultimate dream is to turn the NRL in to an organisation of centrally owned and controlled franchises. To be moved anywhere in Australia and beyond, that they see fit.
In my view, one of the clubs right in the middle of the firing line at Moore Park, is Easts... We are in their sights for relocation, merger or abolition...
Thus, we need to take every available step, no matter how ruthless, to ensure our survival... And if this means being relentless in terms of success on the field and in the coaching box, then so be it... In my opinion (and my opinion only), Easts fans, sponsors and directors MUST be relentless in ensuring the on-going success of this club, day to day, week to week and year to year.
Nothing is more important than the survival of the ESDRLFC!

The Old Wall was relentless in 2001. But don't forget we hadn't won a comp for ages. We were bitter as hell.
It was tough to bag them in 02 - 04 though at the start of 02 we were still giving them a good work over.
A mate just showed me an email I sent him in 02. Gus had said we could win the comp. My email said I don't care what Gus says, we are no chance. Of course, that was before the Broncos game up there and everything that followed.Last edited by Johnny Tobin; 08-17-2014, 10:46 PM.

JT, I remember at start of 2002 Laurie Daley had us as specials to take out the title... then again I also remember at start of 2001 a group of commentators held us in such high regard they were discussing whether we could be the first team to go the entire season undefeated.

If anything, Dave Smith, Toddy Greenburg and co could have the following plans laid out for the ESDRLF:
1. Get rid of Uncle Nick due to the new NRL Board Member rules;
2. Install League HQ crony as new Roosters "chairman";
3. If the current Board resists, cut off all funding from the TV deal; and
4. Have the chairman and new "independent" Easts board relocate us to become the second Brisbane team.
I ask our fellow fans if they think the above can't happen... Well, under the new rules of the game proposed by Dave Smith and co, it could well happen within about 2-3 years.
The best thing we can all do, is stand up, fight!

If they do anything to this club, I will never watch a game of league again.
For all of Demitriou's incompetence, and complicity with ASADA over the Essendon screwjob, he's never intentionally done anything to ruin the AFL. Apparently the guy who replaced him is equally as interested in maintaining the quality of the AFL too.
There have been a succession of NRL CEOs that have next to no idea how to run the game either through incompetence or adherence, like shit on a toilet bowel, to news limited.SUPER DRAGON!
