Mini is the ultimate finisher on the wing.

Just something I've really noticed since he's moved back to the wing this year.

So many wingers try to skin their opposite on the outside and go for the fancy put down but he's willing to step back against a sliding defence & take the knocks to get the ball down. I can't recall too many times this year where when presented with a half opportunity he hasn't finished it off - he just has a knack of getting it down. Not surprising he's ranked 14th in the comp for tries scored.

Mini will always be remembered as a fullback but I've always been of the belief he's was a better winger than he ever was fullback & I mean no disrespect by that, if truth be told I think wing is the far harder position to be good at.

Good to see he's still schooling wingers @ 34 years of age.

Maybe you missed the part where I said I believe wing is actually the harder position to be good at. Very few current first graders can play the position without getting caught out in one or some of the numerous requirements the position presents. Mini had it all, he was a brilliant winger.

This thread is dedicated to his underrated & often unappreciated wing play. In an era when we supposedly have the best finishers in the game he still leaves the majority of them for dead.

Love Mini to death, but the good thing about him being on the wing is that it reduces 'inside' passes to him - which we all know how they usually turn out.

Very good finisher with everything you have listed. How many other fullback would we have won the comp with though last year if we didn't have mini? I'd say Slater, maybe Inglis and maybe Hayne.. Then what other captain in nrl would led us to premiership? Smith?

What he has done and what he still does is every bit the golden boot winner IMO.. Maybe not on paper with line busts, tackle busts etc but that's just the icing...
