  • Bless you Brett Papworth

Just listened to Talkin Sport and they interviewed Robbo.
Graeme Hughes asked the inevitable question about penalties saying he's not seen anything like it with Easts being penalised so much yet they won a premiership and are still successful etc
Robbo answered and was a bit circumspect mentioning he's frustrated and he's got no answer. Then another bloke mentioned it's due to Jared.
To which Papworth mentioned HEAPS of players do exactly what Jared does ALL the time but they never get penalised.
Anyway, he's an Easts supporter I found out. Maybe he actually played for us for love not money.

Pappy mustn't have really loved the chooks that much considering he barely played many games for the mighty tri-colours . Though he oozed all class when on the field

I've just gained a new found respect for Brett Papworth.

Yeah a couple of big injuries he copped which cut his league career down before it even started.

I remember as a young fella watching I think it was Epping High play a rah rah match....even though I was only about 12 years old at the time....I can still remember the tries he scored to this day.

              Good on you 'Pappy'.

He had a step up there with rts. Try to Google his try v all blacks. One of the best tries I've ever seen. genius.
I was so excited when we signed him but his body didn't suit league.

He scored a fantastic side stepping try against Gold Coast in the pre season comp many years ago, injuries crueled his career and as Parkway-Drive said cut down his league career before it started. He collected Rod Wishart knee with a mistimed tackle down at Wollongong in the opening round back in 1990 which shattered his jaw, such a gifted player who never got a real chance to show how good he would have been in league.

Loved how Trent said he doesn't want to talk about the penalties as it has a negative effect on the players' minds if he does.

Who can remember the legendary Toyota (I think) ad at the SFS.
Not even Brett Papworth can break this car

**** that almost gave me a stiffy.

To hear Robbo say, and I'm paraphrasing, "we're a pretty powerful team... and to receive 2, 3 or 4 penalties every week... we seem to come up against the cleanest team every week."

                        YES!!! YESSS!!!!!!!!!!

**** you could sense the overwhelming frustration from him. He's well aware that, yes, we do give away a few penalties, but how about the tiny amount we receive almost every ****ing week?!

Well said, Brett Papworth. Spread the word!

Did Brett get injured doing the interview? He was the original Quentin the Wheelchair boy.

I think Robbo saw what Bellamy got away with in last week press conference and is more prepared to speak out about our treatment by referee's.

                              True enough.
Two completely different games are RL and RU...as SBW said on the Footy Show.
