  • Cordner...its back to school

I will admit I've never been as rapt with Boyd as some commentators and think he's slightly overrated. However still a good player.

However his ability or lack thereof in executing a basic two on one draw and pass is less than schoolboy standard.

He needs to practice this simple but crucial rugby league skill until it works automatically on the field.

Some guys have it naturally... Some have to work at it...Boyds obviously skipped this step in his junior coaching.

Yes he needs to improve pronto on this particular facet of the game Apart from that though the team was outstanding today and are well on track for back to back

Shit pass but he isn't over rated. Just under appreciated by some poor judges.

                He's an absolute weapon.

Yes his 2-on-1s haven't been great but overall he is already the polished article.

In defence and attack he's a beast.

I know R6 rates Papalii higher but I wouldn't trade Boyd for any 2nd rower in the comp. How often does he make 200+ metres? BEAST.

Boyd wore down the opponents on his side of the field so badly that in the second half pretty much every time we went that way we made a line break, I can forgive him.

I rated Papalii higher at the end of last year, injuries have hindered his progression some what this year so if it came down to it I'd be picking Boyd in the Australia squad over Papalii this year.

They're completely different players though, one's a real power runner with a good ball playing game & the other a real worker who runs great lines.

Where lucky the 2 bombed tries didn't cost in the end but he's definetely not overated his hole running is awesome and does a lot of the tough stuff watch him come into his own in the big games.
