It would be a massive gamble to blood Hastings at this time of the year.
Surely Maubs can play 80 minutes. He is a seasoned first grader.
Lol, I recall this other 1/2 who everyone said was debuted too early, just cos of his last name they said, and it took him ages to get up to the speed of first grade.
Now it's let's debut a kid whose a 1/2 or FB at hooker, against Souffs, in the final game of the season.
The irony of the famous last name is juicy.
I've seen Perry and Rudder, among other average players, win comps in crucial spine positions in past seasons. Remember Matt Geyer playing 5/8 for an injured Scott Hill in 99???
Surely Maubs has proven his worth to this forum???

I'm happy for Hastings to spell Maubs for 20 minutes.
Hell if Keary is ready with his size and limited experience then I can't see why Hastings can't have a crack..
if selected Hastings would only have to cover Maubs for a maximum 10-15 minutes spread just before halftime to just after halftime.
would also love to see Evans up against the Burgess boys as the replacement for FPN, but we all know Robbo will go with Casty.
Yeah, I concur mate. Remi was also the 18th man last week.
Interestingly enough too was the selection of 19th man Vincent Leilua who warmed up with the squad. TRobbo must have him earmarked for 1st grade sooner rather than later because Vincent is an important cog for the 3rd placed NYC team.
So let's give an 18 yr old boy his debut in the biggest game of the year against the biggest pack in the game. Out of position.
I'd suggest that won't be happening.
Finally some sense,
Hastings is nowhere near a first grader yet.
I think Aubo can have a spell with Maloney going to dummy half for a short period and SB going to five eight.
I want to have 4 forwards on the bench.
Don't forget Robbo had Napa starting and played him for the full 80 against lol @ souffs in last year's minor premiership game. That's something none of us expected and Naps more than held his own all night.
If the coaching staff think Hastings is ready he'll play.
