Who the **** would want to watch the footy and listen to the refs ?? Sorry but it would be like knocking the back out of Miranda Kerr and looking at a photo of your mum. It just would destroy the moment. Sorry but I don't need to hear the refs to know they are doing us dry.

I leave the Miranda Kerr & Mum fantasies to you. I'm not that way inclined.Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

Sometimes listen to the refs actually helps understand why penalties are given to either side, eg, you can hear them telling a player he's offside only to have the player ignore him. Quite frankly some players (Easts and non-Easts) get what they deserve on some occasions.
It's also good to hear their views when they send tries upstairs as to why they do/don't think it's a try.
I actually feel bereft without them at games now if it runs out of batteries.
While I don't always like what I hear - I'd rather listen to it than not. Far prefer it to radio or TV commentary, espec Channel 9.
