Just read that Inglis received the same suspension for the Young tackle. How does Napa receive the same grading! They have to fight it! Guerra's tackle looks worse! I feel he is lucky he only got a week! Will be interesting to see what the club does! They have accepted most charges this year. Must feel they get shafted if they try to fight or have charges downgraded!

If Matai gets 0 weeks for his shoulder charge, Napa's charge is a disgrace.

What Napa did was lunacy, just a dumb thing to do. Manly people try to convince me, he used his arms.....bullshit.

They will fight the charge, and I'm confident it will get downgraded.

Personally, I feel a shoulder charge is ok UNLESS it makes contact with a player's head. In this case go hard. We apply the same rules for tackles.

But back to the reality in front of us.
        1. Guerra was lucky with his charge. Most on here agree.
        2. Napa needs to fight the severity of the charge; not his innocence and aim for 1-2 weeks maximum.

        Suggested Rule changes to explore:
        1. As stated above re shoulder charges on heads only outlawed
        2. Wipe carry over points at end of premiership round each year.

They way that the commentators(in particular the gargoyle were talking up souffs when they scored the last two trys), it wouldn't suprise me if we did have a few of our top forwards hooked from the side just to give souffs a chance, if we do play them next week.

Last night Bryan Norrie elbowed corey parker straight in his throat when he lift his arm in a carry off his line, but not even a penalty was given. Had that been JWH, he would have been marched never to return again.

Watching the replay Slutton lays down for a penalty. Napalm doesn't touch his soft rosy cheeks, no head contact whatsoever. A downgrade surely is possible.

I'm still of the belief Che never intentionally bends that Souffs players arm back. I don't even think he really bends it at all. The cat lays down for a penalty and is acting like his left shoulder has been broken. Then as he walks up the tunnel on a free interchange it appears to me he's carrying his right shoulder. I call bullshit.

Walker definately chokes Moa. Instead of laying down he reacts.

GI definately chops Baloney on the line. Instead of laying down he plays the ball.

There are a few other occasions similar incidents are treated the same by our players.

I'm glad we don't laydownsally but fark me it has proven costly in this instance.

Anyway we have faced this sort of adversity before and prevailed. Last year round 26 pLOD, Cordner, RTS and Maubs out against a full strength Souffs. We belted them.

Imagine the psychological advantage we'd gain if we beat a full strength Souffs next week.

            Go Easts.

            You know it makes sense.

We won't mate. History shows that they perform well in the month of September....

Agree about the laydownsally comments mate.

Its a minor tragedy that our game is now coached akin to the "worldgame" theatrics to earn your team advantage.

                By some anyway.

None deserve a suspension but then again Sean Garlick is on the judiciary - I rest my case

Mate that's spot on. And it's ****ing outrageous.

Would you agree with my assertion that, knowing a repeat match up the following week is possible, Turner, Sutton and Auva'a (when JWH clipped him) were instructed to exaggerate their "injuries" to try and get our boys suspended? Looked pretty clear to me given the trainers involvement.

But I ultimately believe that its a negative mindset which shows up in their big game footy.

Does anyone else feel that the week off that we have 'earned' should count as a week of a player's suspension? It's a real disadvantage to us in this case to have the extra week off next week after our win, because it could be the difference in someone like Napa being able to play again this year or not. I feel if we 'earn' the week off, that week should count as a game of suspension for each player.

Mate I don't agree they were trying to get our players suspended.

IMO it was to get a penalty and an on report which is a free interchange.

Really that's what players dive for, immediate gain.

I do agree that negative type of game costs you in the end. It's a mindset. Look at Easts, we play oldskool in the way we show no weakness and take out our justice like men, pain for gain.
