No ones fault but dill'n snappa himself. 26 rounds in and he's still shoulder charging players. Someone needs to tell him de rules have changed. This stupidity may contribute to costing us back2back.

      Rugby League Week Opinion:

      NAPA SUSPENDED, WHAT A JOKE!
      Opinion
      September 6

IT’S official. The over-reaction to the shoulder charge is completely out of control and it threatens to cost Dylan Napa a grand final.

If Napa accepts a three-week ban for his shoulder charge on John Sutton and the Roosters win their first final the 21-year-old would not be available for the decider should his team make it.

Cast your mind back to the ugly Greg Inglis high shot on Dragon Dean Young in 2012 which sparked outrage and was the catalyst for the shoulder charge being banned. Inglis was suspended for three weeks and rightly so. The tackle was a shocker.

Can you seriously tell me that the Inglis shoulder charge and Napa’s hit on Sutton deserve the same penalty?

To potentially rob a young player of a grand final appearance on the strength of a tackle that did not even injure his opponent is a joke.

By all means suspend players who hit a player in the head with a shoulder charge as Inglis did in 2012 but let’s not sanitise the game to the point where it is barely a shadow of the physical battle we all love to watch.

How is it right that players who persist in lifting the legs in tackles and dropping opponents on their heads are getting less of a suspension than Napa faces?

The crusher tackles and chicken wing tackles we’ve seen in recent weeks are far worse than anything Napa did on Thursday night and those players didn’t cop three-week bans.

Enough is enough. It’s time to put some common sense back into the shoulder charge debate.

Good article. Did anyone notice Sutton got up after he realised they weren't stopping play for his dive?

We may as well take the charge on as we've got nothing to lose if we fail.

        Chook.

Gaz thinks Napa is a certainty to get off. Nothing but a glancing blow he says.

And he thinks we're certainties to go back to back.

          I like Gaz.

That's the first time I have seen a replay. Napa actually seems to have a hold of Sutton with his right hand at the point of contact which was minimal at best and more a collision than a shoulder charge. He should be cleared within 5 minutes.

Sure looks that way,I am very confident he will get off after seeing the footage again.

Gaz has always been fair with us.
