I think this is more to the case in question, the NRL are making the game more like Soccer and teams are being coaxed to stay down and take a dive to get the free interchange - gone are the days where you never showed you got hurt by the opposition no matter how good they got you.

I rate Evans above Napa at this stage anyway so we're not missing much there in my opininion.

      We will miss Guerra though.

I'm hoping to put a score on these riff ****s so the boys can have a week off and come back fresh and full strength.

so we are going to engage in a game of chicken with the judiciary, hoping that a panel of ex-players decide it would be ridiculous to sit Napa for an entire finals series for his contact with Sutton.

must say I thought they would go the easier route and go for the downgrade which would have seen him only miss 1 week.

my understanding of the system is now we are pleading not guilty, we can't then try to go for a downgrade if he is found guilty, so its going to be 4 weeks or nothing.

I am still in shock at Tony Williams getting off his shoulder charge, what a disgrace!

I didn't think he had a case to answer. There was a distinct separation of the arm from the body, which what is required.

                It looked bad, no argument.

And the whole "separation" interpretation is a joke. TRex clearly lined Sezer up for a shoulder charge, making no attempt to tackle, and knocked him out.

But no, because his arm wasn't totally tucked in he gets off. Crazy.

just too hard to interpret the shoulder charge interpretations and it's banning is detracting from the game itself.

Just allow it unless there is contact with the head. Then have charges for falling into it or not.

I feel the legal fraternity have had it outlawed to prevent/limit future lawsuits.

That's the way I see it.
They need to concentrate more on the contact to the head. That's the killer.

                        Yeah it's a big play.

I can't see NRL HQ being too stoked if he gets off.

The problem with that stance is by allowing the shoulder charge to be part of the game you open the league up to the ramifications of it. If some player suffers head trauma as a result, saying "well we penalised them if they hit the head" is no defence. You either ban it altogether or take the risk of litigation. That's my understanding of the law.

                          Chook.

The brain snaps of all brain snaps.

Napalm is there to replace pLOD as that nasty individual no one likes to play against. Then FPN is out so the kid feels the need to step up even further. So he oversteps the mark. I like his style.

Hope he gets off. Imagine the tears in the media.

                            yes agreed completely.

Tyler, This is where rugby has it all over RL, No lifting in tackles, no shoulder charging and contact only below the shoulders.. RL's rules are not clear cut enough..

                              Easts to win.

Also, no try's in games, no crowds at games or interest on tv. No enjoyment from that game at all, with sonny there next year, I will try to catch some of his games.
