Me thinks its far too late for that scoop....
At least Carney didn't drive, or hopefully didn't as I'm not sure he has a licence after being caught DUI previously. Not to mention he probably would have been close to or over the limit.

With friends like Carney, who needs enemies. His own repuation over the wellbeing and welfare of a mate, who would have been in obvious pain. Go figure.

Devil's advocate, but who says alcohol was involved?

Carney admitted that he did it (there's no question there)... the question is how? And will any charges been laid?

I think he'll get off this time if no charges are laid, and his mate says "ooooh it was an accident..." But the ice that Carney's on just got even thinner... BIG pressure on the man to perform and act like a gentleman both on and off-field!

Wouldnt that make it even worse....to think that one would shave a mates head, eyebrows and set him alight, no matter how it happened, all while sober.............

Fark me what a media beat up. And whats even funnier is to hear how some people are reacting. Some are saying he should be sacked. For what??

Please people dont get caught up in the Telecraps "We have nothing to write about at this time of year so we will write about anything" bullsh*t.

Seriously he was just mucking around with mates as young blokes do. Unfortunately it went a bit wrong and on of them got hurt as what happens when young mates muck about. I dont see any intent or any abusing other parties, or assaulting other parties??

          Fark me

The bloke is what 23-24? He's not an 18-20 year old.

Isn't it about time we stopped looking at Carney's antics as simply "young man's pranks" and realised that he's not that young any more, at least in terms of age.

Time for the bloke to grow up and take responsibility for what he does, and think about consequences of his actions.

                          I'm with you mate.
The media and fans (unfortunately Roosters) are reactive & very quick to judge especially when the details are speculative.
Around this time of the year many grown up's act immaturely too. The above incident was far less serious than his previous misdemeanours.
As the saying goes "give him enough rope and he'll hang himself".
To live life in a fishbowl would be most frustrating so give the guy a break and let him be.

its not like they don't know that though-its their life-its part and parcel of being in their profession. every job has its pitfalls, and being in the spotlight is the pitfall of being a professional footballer. and as i said previously, this is a guy who claims to want to improve his image and handle himself more responsibly in public. airlie beach on new years isnt really the place to do that. guilty or innocent, it was a pretty dumb decision to hang out there.

You last sentence says it all really, and we all know Mr Carney was never destined to be a Rocket Scientist.....
