Thoughts on Trent Merrin keyboard coaches?

Can play a lot of minutes, size speed offloads, a bit soft but I am sure JHW could bring him up to speed!
Could be some free cash from SBW, I think we need another pig at the right price.

No to Merrin, he is solid frontrower, but we have 6 like him, we need to wait till the right frontrower comes onto the market, they are not plentiful, but one will come along.

would make a perfect lock for us, plenty of hitups and one of the best offloaders in the game.

only problem is we don't have the cap room for him.

the only way I could see us getting him is if the NRL doesn't register a contract for Fergo.

question is who would we need more Merrin or Fergo, keeping in mind Meehan could develop into a very similar player to Merrin over time.

Personally, I doubt we have any cash to spare. All the blokes we have re-signed will be on much improved deals, we've had plenty of rep bonuses to pay (some like Toupou unexpected), and we need to look forward to the end of next year when more will be up for contract and will also be looking for bigger money.

I'd prefer we'd concentrate on re-signing the good players we do have, espec when the ones on the market are no better, and that includes Merrin.

A big part of it these days is sponsorship 3rd party and being able to take advantage of the allowances legally + flicking the duds like FNP and the Frenchie lol
