  • Let's face it...

We were nowhere near the team we were last year......not even close. Haven't been all year. I am still surprised how we were minor premiers!

Last year we wouldn't have leaked points like that in a final.

I think we just didn't. Have the same desire this year and ran out of steam.

      30 points last week.

      32 tonight.

The game is a different beast this year with the touch footy ruck speed and obscene 7 tackle rule from restarts, BUT...

That's not excuse enough for our rapid decline in D.

The whole game was changed this year. New rules speed the play up ensured we could not be the team we were last year Dont underestimate the significance the rule changes had in not only not being able to go back to back but also why we didnt look like the team of last year

          Also,

Eels round 2 and Warriors round 24 were our only 80 minute performances all year.

We won the Minor Premiership on our talent alone. I mean I'm not doubting our effort, but our execution was average all season.

            100%.

It was practically a different sport this year with the touch football ruck speed.

Unfortunately, tonight was a reflection of the entire season. An underwhelming performance. We underachieved. We looked nowhere near as motivated as Souths. The boys did not deserve to win and it kills me that Souths will be in the GF in our place

Mentally, we were unable to compete. I really do think the Coaching staff need to share a lot of the blame. Since round 1 we have been dropping the ball and throwing away sets. Tonight was no different. Tonight was also no different in that we let them score 30 unanswered points. Disgraceful. Why can't Robbo and his staff fix this? The side simply did not improve enough from game to game

Agree. The minor premiership was a minor miracle. We were just a shadow of last yrs squad. That team has 6 perfect defensive results, this yr was none.

Deep down most would probably agree that we didn't deserve a comp win based on de whole yr.

Yep, the rule changes and poor refereeing standards didn't help however over the whole season the desire wasn't consistent enough.

Then we clicked and maybe spent too much energy winning the last 6 games of regular season. We looked abit spent in that all important penriff match. After we lost that I knew we were long odds to win the comp.
