Luke to fight dangerous throw charge

    NRL.com

South Sydney hooker Issac Luke will face the judiciary on Tuesday night, needing to beat grade one dangerous throw charge to have any chance of playing in Sunday's grand final against Canterbury.

Luke was cited for his throw on Sonny Bill Williams in the 38th minute of the Rabbitohs' preliminary final victory over the Roosters, and with 20 per cent loading for prior offences and 50 carry-over points already to his name, he will be rubbed out of the premiership decider if unless he beats the charge.

A statement from Souths confirmed they will head to League Central on Tuesday to "strenuously fight the charge," with an unsuccessful appeal resulting in a two-game suspension that would also affect his Four Nations campaign with New Zealand.

Bulldogs forward Tony Williams will not have a case to answer despite being put on report for a high shot on Penrith's Josh Mansour in Canterbury's 18-12 win on Saturday night.

Roosters prop Sam Moa was also cited by the committee for a careless high tackle on Kirisome Auva'a, but won't miss any game time with an early guilty plea.
I am amazed, but glad Moa got off so lightly, it was a pretty bad shot. As suspected no charges laid against JWH.

    JWH barely did anything wrong.

Isn't it astonishing the hysteria he can whip up amongst commentators and fans over nothing?

Meanwhile Sam Burgess can whack us square in the nose and not so much as raise a murmur.

    Ahh human nature, fascinating.

Didn't stop the refs putting him on report about 18 times during the game.

        Or during the Panthers game.

The pink merkins are hysterical the way they approach him. All you hear all game is "Jared!!! Jared!!! Jared!!!".

It used to be the same with MLK... then he became a Bronco. His discipline is all sweet now.

It'd be funny if it wasn't sad.

They're trying to appear 'reasonable' by not suspending JWH so that they can let off Luke. It's a gambit. They want to show a hand that absolves them of bias towards Luke by letting them all off. Anyone can see through their corruption.

If there was no Luke to free they'd throw the book at JWH. We've seen them do that for ages why be any different now? It's the nature of their corruption to give an 'appearance' of fairness when we all know they are corrupt as hell.

The way I see it also, it's sickening.

If Luke gets off the McKinnon should resign from his lifetime job with the NRL and tell them not to expect any more good will until they get serious about this kinda stuff...

I love how they graded it a grade 1 lift........... soft cokcs

I would really like to know why the players with left over points from one season have their points transferred to the following season. isn't the one season different to the next.....
