  • Tribute to Tommy Smith

You've been on fire this season.

Relentless in your almost camp diatribes against underperforming players, refs and commentators. Then the unashamed turn-around after the siren, ready for next week. And finally, form befitting what I think has been a memorable season has you as magnanimous and positive about the state of affairs as anyone on here.

    Great stuff.

    Tommy - I salute thee.

Anyone that gets a thread devoted to them is worthy of a salute.

Personally, I like what Tommy brings to the table.

      Hahaha thanks mate. I'm honoured.

It's been a frustrating roller coaster ride for all of us this season.

I think we're all looking back on the year saying that we barely strung together an 80 minute performance all season And yet we finished Minor Premiers. Remarkable.

That's how good we are. Hence everyone's frustration at times. You could even sense that frustration in Robbo's press conference after last Friday night.

Last year was the best season I think we'll ever experience. And because we didn't come close to living up to 2013, looking back I really didn't enjoy 2014. It was more stressful than exhilarating. Which is kind of sad.

That hit home after the Penrith loss, where like many of us I'm sure, I was in a hysterical rage when the dwarf Soward kicked that field goal.

But I took a step back and made the conscious decision to be all positive instead from now on. Especially after I read my contributions in that "goodbye 2014" thread

And that'll be my approach from now... all positive! Except during game day threads of course . FPN especially will never be safe

What I do love about this place is that it's full of incredibly passionate Roosters fans. And it gives us all a place to vent and discuss the mighty RWB. So I salute you all for making the chookpen the best "spare time" killer there is

I'm going to enjoy the offseason after all the stress. But then bring on 2015 where it starts all over again

I'm now waiting for someone to come in and call me a wanker

It wouldn't be the chookpen without an insult or two.

Still, it's pretty tame compared to what The Wall used to be.

I'd like to salute oldmanrooster for threatening to rape Assyrian_Pimp in response to his Mini insults. Definitely the best and most extreme response on here all year

As in, am I a wooden doll like Pinocchio?

And I was expecting a more substantial insult from you You normally can't get through a single post without calling someone a wanker

The group hugging lovefest that went on here after last year's premiership win was sickening. I am looking forward to an off season of disagreement with frustrated chook fans.

I personally rate this season along with 2004 as another squandered opportunity. And I don't care how highly you all think of Robbo. This finals campaign was a screw up of Ricky Stupid proportion.

Fark you all. Especially Tommy :-p

Can't argue with that, we squandered a brilliant opportunity at going back to back by being very complacent against the pamfers week 1 of the finals. Holy f*** we were poor in that game and after losing that, we didn't deserve to go b2b! Robbo should of had us primed for that game against the pamfers, but instead you would have thought the way we played that we hadn't played finals football in over 10 years.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

                      Here's looking at you, kid.

This is much worse than 04 for me. The Dogs had a great side and we were out of puff after three hard years. We are so much better than the other sides on paper this season and we didn't aim up at all. I don't think we reached 2013 standard in any game this year. It's a crying shame and the fact we seem to have handed a premiership to Souffs makes it almost unbearable.

Instead of going back to back, the team went ass to mouth.
