Some expected too much.

Good season after a great one. Tough end but we didn't help ourselves.

Worst completions in the game and the worst penalty differentials.

That finally caught up with us. One game too many. The Riff loss was costly.

And that World Cup. Cordner, RTS, DoubleSteamer, Baloney, JWH and a few others looked buggered the last month. Was definately a factor IMO.

PearceOrf, Che, Napalm improved all year.

In hind site the Mini RTS swap in attack was probably not as effective as we hoped it would be.

Watching last Friday night I thought Cordner was struggling big time. I would have loved to have seen Maubs used before and after 1/2 time giving Cordner a rest. IMO Maubs was under-utilised this season other than when Friendly was out.

Still they gave it a lash. Just weren't quite good enough on the night.

Hopefully we see a few changes next season. Fresh faces and ideas. A little shake up. Players and coaches.

Castrol will definately be the new captain.

Cordner had an awful game. He looked busted. I agree that Aubusson should have been given 1/2 hour on the left edge.

I think the disappointment stems from that Riff game. How ****ing average were they against the Dogs? With all their injuries they're a very average side. And we played woeful enough to somehow lose to them and effectively end our season.

A tragic event given how we built towards the finals with a fantastic 6 game winning streak.

We were primed after a tiring season with no off season. And then we slipped on a banana skin in the worst possible fashion.

Personally I believe we'd be facing the Cowboys in the GF this week if we didn't **** up. But alas we're dealing in hypotheticals now.

So yes you're right, b2b is extremely difficult, but we put ourselves in the best position only to choke.

Even against Souffs, at 12 nil we were flying. But then fatigue hit and was rammed down our throats by an avalanche of absurd penalties and stripping/knock on calls.

Ugh, it is what it is and I've learned not to cry over it. I'm just happy we got to experience 2013. And here's to rejuvenation in 2015

And who knows, maybe 8.3 penalties per game ala Souffs rather than 5 per game . Wouldn't that be nice!

To win a comp you need a bit of luck with injuries, and after that you need a bit more luck to win three games in a row against the best teams in the comp. That is why no team was paying under $4 before the finals.

However, two dickheads getting themselves suspended in a game which was effectively a dead rubber, followed by throwing away match-winning leads three games in a row off the back of terrible ball control, that is something else altogether. It was like a rerun of the 2004 grand final three games in a row.

I too am grateful for 2013. But no doubt that this is one of the worst squandered opportunities in my lifetime as a Roosters fan.

We know too well that once the honeymoon period is over the worm can turn very quickly in this place. Next year will be the most important year in Robbos career.

Yes Robbo, while he has done well, still irks me how the coaching staff were never able to get the wood duck penalties out of our game, by the same players every week, and the going for the ball on the fifth tackle, 90% of the time, just knocking it on, and giving the other side the scrum feed, and the ball for another set of six. Only basic stuff, but wasent corrected all season, and I cant for the life of me thi nk why not.

I re watched the game on fox. at least they replay some stuff nein doesn't.

3 back slams. first on jnr, one meter from their goal, . next was frankies, and the c#@t didn't look at why he was concussed. and the 3rd was on jimmy. all of these(by the letter of the law) were illegal. we got nothing. I am so sick of these cheats doing what they want instead of adjudicating the game by the rules. the knock on mini gave away (15meters out from out goal line) where their 6 jumped and knocked the ball into minis head. we got pinned for it and yet this clown (6) was infront of the kicker by more than a metre. we should have a captains challenge.........

little things like playing the ball where you got tackled, head high tackles, neck wrestles, teaching how to pack a scrum, onside defenders, should all be policed by the refs, and the touchies should be doing their freekin job properly.

I know that this has been hounded on for years and years....fark enough is enough.....is it because gyngal is the boss of nein and and ex rooster board member, why we are raped by the nrl and refs. is it to show there is no bias from the major sponsor(tv rights).....I don't know

I'm very glad you call a spade a spade. I've been asking our guys to just watch the match again and you'll see clearly we were dudded. They got all the wrong calls and got best field position. We just couldn't defend forever.im sure if we were on an equal footing we would have won. We were great when we had the ball but wrong calls kept giving the ball back to the vermin not to mention a blind eye to all the illegalities of the vermin you mentioned. To me it was just too obvious.

Notwithstanding our outs the loss to panthers at home was unforgivable due to appalling game plan and it cost us back to back campaign. This squad will have many regrets about squandering a golden opportunity to create history.

Souths would have been tough in gf but we would have been imposing as a fresher side .

It is too hard to win this com playing four weeks of finals footy.
