Who improved and who disappointed

Friend? I haven't had to defend Friend in over 2 years. His ability has finally been accepted & recognised on here.

And yes I'll always defend Cordner for the same reasons I'll always defend players like Friend & Pearce because I know first hand he's one of the hardest trainers, I know how much respect he has for the club & just how determined he is to succeed. As a supporter of our club that'll always be enough for me to defend any player at our club. The only thing more laughable is those actually questioning his talent.

I mean did someone seriously suggest that if Cornder doesn't pick up his game next year he should be moved on?

Really? The bloke who averaged more metres per game than ANY other forward in our squad, the guy who made more linebreaks than ANY other forward in the entire competition. Anyone who thinks you achieve those sorts of stats on the back of a poor attitude towards preparation is ignorant beyond belief.

And why because he enjoys a beer in his free time? Used to live with Todd Carney nearly a year ago? Spare me.

Cordner only disappointed this season because most people don't seem to have a memory that extends beyond that range of about 4-6 weeks. Yes Cordner had a underwhelming end to the season but I'm not sure many people realise just how hampered he's been by his leg injury or even that he was carrying such an injury.

Come on 6, they didn't bloody lead us to premiership, only bloody managed 3rd place and a bloody minor premiership.. Lol

Some really good points there R6 that people need to take into account with Cords. It was very easy to see that Cords was playing busted in our last 4 games. Yes he was ordinary against the pamfers and $ouff$, and I blew up delux with those couple of errors he made in that last game against $ouff$, but then I had to remind myself that it was a courageous effort just for him to be out on the field.

Maloney was the same, and was very inconsistent as a result. He was brilliant against the warriors in the lead up to the finals and against the cowboys in the finals, but had a shocker against the pamfers and was MIA against $ouff$.

Jennings also looked like he was playing busted after SOO, and as a consequence had very little impact at the back end of the season.

Disagree on Jennings.. I thought had admirable season and if hadn't got concussed I believe Penrith wouldn't got near us in that game.

Afterwards Pearce said sorry and paid a fine. The Tele and Channel 9 looked for a starstruck girl who wanted to make up a BS story about being assaulted/raped. No biters, so they decided to post a blurry photograph instead.

The whole issue fizzled away and Pearce had an awesome season. NEEEEEEXT!!!

They should have got Clare Werbeloff, the Chik Chik Boom girl. She has dynamite nerps.

Well said. Cordner is a future captain of this side once he has had a few more years under his belt. He's a walk in to the origin side and is one of the best edge forwards in the game.

For mine

Standouts: Tupou, Jenko( who has been the best defensive centre in the game, which no one notices), Pearce, Guerra, Friend, Aubo(filled many important roles) and Napa, liu (both will be starters for years to come), Moa(leader of our forward pack this year), SOH( excited to see his development in years to come), SBW ( does a lot of things in defence that people don't notice and always has strong carries)

So and So : Mini, RTS, SKD (all three have had their moments but no consistency), Cordner(poor back end of season), Evans, Mcdonald( need more game time but have heaps of promise), Maloney(terrible at times)

Needs major improvement next season : JWH (was never in it this season, lacked intensity with carries and fitness) FPN(more butterball than wrecking ball), Casty (had passion but just not built for NRL), Brendan Elliott( I don't think he will be a future first grader but I have been wrong in the past. L.Mitchell, T.Milne and N. Mcdonald look better prospects tbh), L'estrange

Yeah not saying that Jennings had a bad season, just disappointed with his impact in the finals. It looked like he was carrying an injury that was restricting his impact. I wish he would get rid of the beard, he is trying to look like me which is flattering, but it must slow him down.

this is a good thing mate. We have a number of leaders within this team that take pride in our jersey and would bleed for our colours. Compare this to the 2009/2012 squad....

If you are on the field you get judged without injury excuses.

I doubt that those that are critical of Cordner are questioning his talent or his attitude. i think most are disappointed with his overall performance considering what he was last year and how the media have already made him into a future great, well mostly coming from Freddy.
Some, like me are disappointed with RTS because we know what he can do but like Cordner, he didn't show what he was last year. It may be that broken leg thing from the world cup but in the end, he was nothing like last year.


As for supporting any player who plays for us, can you honestly say that you haven't stucked your boot at any particular player over the last year or even 2?

I was most impressed with Napa. He really got better as the year went on. Was looking very comfortable.
