    Geez I'm glad I didn't watch it.

No newspapers or sports radio for the rest of the week either.

FMD, we're lucky we didn't play this weekend. If I was a dog's fan I would be furious . Even the commentators have gotten on board. Not once did SKD's fractured jaw get mentioned last year.....
SKD was smart though... rather than telling everybody and demanding a break every 5 minutes he just spat some teeth out, said nothing and kept playing. Nobody knew about it during the game so nobody targeted him.

John Sattler's jaw was so badly broken he spent time in the toilets putting it back in place so that he could speak. He also went out of his way to hide the injury from the opposition during the game.

Meanwhile Barge-ass with his depressed cheekbone which many players including Freddy and Lockyer have ignored and played on with, has to remind everyone every few minutes. He then has his little sook about the opposition targeting him, and he is still portrayed as some courageous super hero.

I was a little disappointed with the way the commentators and media in general didn't really give South's the kudos they deserve.

Its been 43 years you know...that's a long time.

Don't any of you guys think it was a pretty courageous effort? I hate the entire Burgess family but come off it. If he was a Rooster we would all be singing his praises. That was a tough performance and went a long way to securing his side a premiership. Kudos when kudos are due.

Burgess would be one of the first players I would target if off contract. Big effort, and getting treatment for an injury like that, no shame in it.

It was a sacrifice that any player would have made in a grand final, and without whining about it during or after the game. The media drawing parallels with Sattler is ridiculous.

I disagree Dice. It was gutsy as hell and Burgess deserves all the accolades he has been receiving. any player? I don't think so.

I think Graham owns in all the time except that he doesn't have the support. Poach Graham I'd say.

Were Freddy and Lockyer lying when they both said they had played on with a fractured cheekbone? Did SKD also lie about his broken jaw? or are they all superheroes as well?

And I agree with ROC181. Graham > Burgess

It was nauseating. You fair dinkum wouldn't know the Dogs were playing. The fact they played glory glory before the game and then sent the Dogs out to who let the dogs out was disgraceful in my opinion. The NRL should be ashamed of themselves for that nonsense.

While a lot more than necessary was made of it you can't really say it wasn't a great effort by Burgess who not only played on with the fracture but made 22 runs for 225m and 35 tackles. He could have had a quiet game from then on but instead was bloody valuable. The Channel 9 beat up was expected. They enjoy sensationalising and everyone knows that already, obviously in particular when it comes to Souths. SKD not getting mentioned at all was poor form. Tim Browne has played the entire finals series with a fractured skull but he's not a Burgess so no one will remember that effort.

They did make Brown out to be the evil villain though, for trying to 'head butt' Squirrel.
He was merely trying to aggressively pack down in the scrum!
