  • Training....

I bumped into an old mate of a mate whose brother's butcher's old lady's cousin has been at Roosters training...

This is what I got, for what it is worth....

The obvious - Carney is training at fullback, chiming into the backline out wider. One reason why Mini is starting on the wing is to ease him back into the game. He should end up back at fullback, but not right away ..

JWH wants to take every hit-up..

JWH and FPN are big, farking angry men on the football field..(Both are in for massive years this year).

Conn is also training the house down and certainly wants to play first-grade

A few of the big boys are still carrying too much pud..(Ryles and Myles were mentioned).

There is this massive unit with an iron jaw running in the centres..(JP Du...)

Pearce is pulling off some very tricky plays..

Brian Smith has total control over this rabble from last year. It is military-like...He points at someone and they come and bow down in front of him while he tells them what he wants..then they go and do exactly that..

I know every club is "training the house down" at this time of the year, but there are some great signs..

    I hope people are interested..

Interested to see who is playing dummy half. Will Phil Graham play centre or wing?

A lot of the paper talk appears to be correct..

Kouparitsis has put his hand up and is giving the hooker role a real crack..Smith likes Koops..

I am not so sure about this one - SKD is training in the centres???

I think Graham will be a winger..

Thanks PtB for what was an interesting and funny read.

I particularly enjoyed hearing about JWH and FPN being described as big and angry. YEAHHHHH !!!

And I laughed at this line ... "Brian Smith has total control over this rabble from last year. It is military-like...He points at someone and they come and bow down in front of him while he tells them what he wants..then they go and do exactly that.."

I didn't think JP Du Plessis was a big unit, so that surprises me in a good way.

SKD back to the position he played in under 20's and juniors I'm happy about that. A Matt King clone methinks

That's a massive insult to Matt King

                    SKD
Could be a miracle move or a massive trainwreck, but it'll be fun to watch anyways

I happened to speak to a couple of the players last week.

They certainly sound pumped up for a good year.

It seems things were diabolical under freddy but every single thing is completely professional under smith. Every i is dotted and every t is crossed. The rest of the coaching staff are also impressing too. Everything seems brand new, its like a different club.

I was also told that hargreaves is killing it and that carney will be a gun for us.

Then I was told that skd was training in the centres and then that is when I threw up.

Come on I think SKD could be good in the centres

It happens quite a bit when a young bloke gets promoted to 1st grade and shoved on the wing after blitzing it playing centres in lower grades. No wonder he struggles with decision making in defence on the wing it is a lot different to defending as a centre when you have someone on the inside and someone on the outside of you. Also I think he won't be in position to take the high ball as much in defence which he can struggle with at times. SKD can certainly run the ball well.

I like big, tackle-breaking centres. SKD might come good there.

Mark Harris was one of my favourite players in the 70s, but like SKD he had terrible hands at times. Lots of supporters hit their foreheads in frustration when he played too.

I'm looking forward to SKD scoring a Grand Final winning try just like Mark did in 74.

First he's compared to Matt King, now he's compared to Mark Harris..

                            who's next? Folau?? Meninga??

                            Good lord...

SKD is barely a first grader

It's a shame that FPN is so pathetic.
