Im not saying that Robbo doesn't deserve his contract extension but I just want to remind people that Ricky Stewart had been more successful at the Roosters over 2 years than what Robbo has been.

Coaching the Roosters without SBW will be like coaching the Roosters without Freddy like Stewart had to do. I think Robbo will be lucky to get the Roosters in the top 4 next year so that would mean that he has taken the team from the top & slowly gone down the ladder, hope Im wrong.

My main point is everyone thought Ricky was the messiah after taking us to 3 GF's in a row 18 months later he was sacked.

      Wow.

Our fans are just so hard to please.

Stuart rode the coattails of arguably one of the top 3 playmakers of all time. When Freddy left, Stuart was found out.

Robbo is a different breed of coach. And our record without SBW is excellent.

      FFS, TIT!

Im not hard to please mate because I don't expect the Roosters to win the comp often. I was just saying that we have had other coaches who have had more success than Robbo but when the team went south on the ladder they were sacked.

Im not against Robbo I like him but I liked Stewart & Graham Murray as well. I don't dislike anyone who coaches the Roosters even though I thought Smith was doing more harm than good at the club but they all end up sacked that's all Im saying.

The two years between when Robbo coached us (2011-2012) says plenty about his ability to get the best out of our players. He took the same squad of plebs and turned them into the best defensive unit in the league.

          Ecstatic he has been extended.

          Chook.

Great news. Robbo has plenty to prove in 2015 and imo he is up to the task. I'm really hoping we sign a strong back-up dummy half and I think MK will be an excellent signing for depth. How we go without Sonny is going to be interesting. To be honest if you took Sonny out of our finals campaign in 2014 we were very ****ing ordinary.

We were very ordinary with SBW in the 2014 finals campaign

Yeah, I'm not overly worried about losing SBW after last year's effort.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

I think we can do OK without SBW. While his impact wasn't as great this year as it was last, that fact will help us moving forward. There should also be a case of the others now putting their hands up to cover his loss - aubo might also see some more game time in the back-row. His effectiveness as a ball-runner was blunted at the back-end of the season due to Friends injury (& aubo did an admirable job covering hooker) and he lacked quality game time. We are well served in the back row and with Lui coming on nicely as well I think we can be top 4 again.

Mickey, I think it would be fair to say that after their first two years at the helm Ricky and Robbo are about on par.

Robbo may well go backwards, and if so he will be judged harshly here for it. Difference is, Robbo's failure is in the future, Ricky's is a matter of public record.

I think our 9 and 7 will go to another level next year and that could be the difference.

Robinson doesn't strike me as the sort of coach that burns players out. .. . coaches like Ricky Stuart or Roy Masters.

It will be interesting to see if Pearce can carry his late season form into next year. As for Jake, surely he will be close to surpassing Smith who is slowing down to the pace of an elderly turtle.

                            And don't forget Fergo.

He's one of the game's most lethal attacking talents.

If the NRL stop being Nazis and register his contract then he'll go a long way towards replacing SBWs on field impact.

With him at centre and RTS at fullback I also like the fact that we'll naturally evolve, rather than seek to replace Sonny with a like for like replacement, which doesn't exist.

Actually I do keep forgetting about Fergo to be honest - not relying on anything happening there at the moment with the goings on at the NRL.

But I agree Tommy, we'll march to the beat of a slightly different drum next year which seems to be a pre-requisite in this comp now - if you don't change the others catch up or the NRL change the rules to suit other sides.

Appeared as though there were a number of boys out there who were feeling the effects of a long season, looked like enthusiasm let
us down more than lack of talent.

2015 will show us what they can really do.
