Take Dugan out of your roster (who u guys signed cause no one else wanted to take a punt on cause he's a injury prone fkwit) and you may possibly have one of the worst teams in the nrl, one to even rival that of the sharks. If your current roster is valued at $6 million, then you guys definitely should go the consumer affairs unit, cause I don't know what u are spending your money on.

When did I say you were salary cap cheats? I said if you signed both Taumalolo and Merton then fingers will be pointed at you and then most rational fans will question how do you manage to keep your roster under the salary cap. I didn't suggest your 2013 or 14 team was over the cap.

Learn to construct your argument. I'm saying there is a trend emerging and if it continues then 3 or 4 clubs are and another may abuse the cap.

TBH I'm pretty sure Souffs and Dogs are probably breaching it along with Broncos. If Roosters sign on a few more stars like some here are suggesting and don't offload a few what are most supporters of other clubs going to think.

What kind of salary cap do you guys have out Bondi Junction way?? Is it the Bulldogs/Souffs/Broncos version of the rubbery salary cap?

Mezz and Taumalolo plus the others that you have. No doubt you guys will lose a few but surely not a real lot....the old story the boys are taking less to stay at the Roosters will trotted out but nobody will be fooled if you happen to pick up both.

Its funny how you guys whinge about Souffs being cheats when you guys are really not much better...that Johnny Tobin character really cracks me up. You just won a premiership 13 months ago, minor premiership, have a star studded roster with other big names to be signed for sure so probably another premiership or 2 in the next 3 to 4 years. Pretty much the envy of most other clubs in the NRL and some of you go on about as if the sky is falling in and you will never never never get over Souffs winning the Premiership. And if they did sign both, how do you know that the Roosters wont release more players to accomodate them? Who is to say that JWH does not go to Union? Or Guerra is involved in a swap deal being a Queenslander?

Thanks for the welcome mate....Funnily you have hit the nail 're The Dragons. Anyway I won't bombard you guys a real lot anymore but from time to time I will be hanging around posting from time to time.

With regards to the two players in question I do not believe that Jason Taumalolo has proven himself to be a consistent and all round player to warrant the potential high salary that he will command after his recent international debut and I am also unsure of whether or not we need to spend the big money required to land the services of a player in Trent Merrin's role. Perhaps if the rumours of Frank Paul Nuuasala's departure are true then I believe that Trent Merrin would be worth consideration but his salary could potentially be put to better use.

I dislike the St George Dragons a lot however I believe the St George fan is correct on some things. There is often discussion about other teams such as the South Sydney Rabbitohs, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and the Brisbane Broncos in relation to their clubs salary cap however the same rationale is rarely applied to our own club. Where fans see other clubs and question how that club can recruit and re-sign players legally under the salary cap they are often able to rationally see how it could be done with their own club as players will often be paid a lot of money in one year and less in another year to manage the salary cap.

I believe that if the club were to sign Jason Taumalolo and Trent Merrin then our club would lose at least one big name player by season 2016. A couple of players in our squad have improved out of sight from the time they signed their last contract to the time now and they are most certainly getting underpaid as premiership winning and even international representative players so to retain these players will put a strain on the ability to sign proven first graders from other clubs. This is what happened to our squad in the early 2000's as we were able to sign high potential players and take advantage of their development and low salary but unfortunately they can only stick around for a few seasons, often only in the span of one contract, before the squeeze sets in.

I have been saying for a while we are going to lose players that are off contract at the end of next year. Especially if we are in for taumalolo and merrin but we have lost are fair few players this year.
When everyone that isn't a roosters supporter tells me we are salary cap cheats, I get a bit sensitive on the subject so I guess I went a bit OTT.
