I saw you come on and stalk me again Thirteen....you still haven't answered my question to you why do they call you Thirteen??

    I will hazard a guess

    IQ?
    Age?
    HSC TER Score?
You look like Fitzy or you play like Fitzy...
Your favourite player was a lock forward.....am I getting close..

I happen to live near and work in the area and my best mate is a Roosters supporter who is on this forum... mate!!!....it is a free world I am a busy person but a few spare minutes here and there to get on here. I happen to quite like the Roosters is that good enough for you?

Agree Snogard we wouldn't have saved much cash from the cap from players leaving this year, the first three i reckon like you lucky if we save 600k between the three of them. The others a couple of hundred grand. i dont think we would be in the market much for anyone this year.

Sonny Bill Williams (Rugby union), Anthony Minichiello (retired), Remi Casty (Catalan Dragons), Heath L'Estrange (St George Illawarra Dragons), Tautau Moga (North Queensland Cowboys) and Daniel Mortimer (Gold Coast Titans)

Outside of SBW of which I believe a fair percentage if his remuneration came from 3rd party deals. You havn't saved a lot of cap space, Mini would have largely been on the LS players allowance and the others you mentioned would not have been a big dollars.

I previously was in the medical profession but now have spent last 10 or so years in the accounting, auditing and law profession. I am particularly curious in how the big 3 or 4 clubs manage their cap. Schubert was a bit of a dope and I don't know who Smith and Co now have. I have mates who are absolute gun auditors so I am aware of certain trends going on and what the crooks are using not to be caught. No way I am a gun ok fellas. However, if certain trends in the NRL continue it wouldn't surprise me to see a scaled down version of what is happening in the EPL in the NRL nothwistanding the relative success of the salary cap until recent times. Obviously there is no Salary Cap in the EPL and so we see an unlevel playing over there. It is starting to emerge here again I believe.

I believe in recent times certain clubs have started to disregard the cap but have better ways, systems in place, records in the cloud,etc...evidence can be very hard to obtain now in this electronic age with encrypted passwords, darknets, TOR in which IP addresses are essentially invisible and devices holding mountains of data but able to be carried around. (not like in the good old days catching someone with their second set of books). Therefore the smarter and more devious clubs are able to prevent being caught out, etc.

The NRL imo need to lift their game and get proper forensic accountants and auditors firms on contract to audit the clubs and their salary cap. After all David Smith came from the finance world he should know who the best accountants and auditing firms are.

Mezz and Taumalolo plus the others that you have. No doubt you guys will lose a few but surely not a real lot....the old story the boys are taking less to stay at the Roosters will trotted out but nobody will be fooled if you happen to pick up both.

Its funny how you guys whinge about Souffs being cheats when you guys are really not much better...that Johnny Tobin character really cracks me up. You just won a premiership 13 months ago, minor premiership, have a star studded roster with other big names to be signed for sure so probably another premiership or 2 in the next 3 to 4 years. Pretty much the envy of most other clubs in the NRL and some of you go on about as if the sky is falling in and you will never never never get over Souffs winning the Premiership. My rant is over, carry on champions!

          DRAGONS!!!
Not the kind that pays 700K for a washed up west tigers/ yawnion reject in Marshall. You guys just lost B.Morris and possibly Merrin. Take Dugan out of your roster (who u guys signed cause no one else wanted to take a punt on cause he's a injury prone fkwit) and you may possibly have one of the worst teams in the nrl, one to even rival that of the sharks. If your current roster is valued at $6 million, then you guys definitely should go the consumer affairs unit, cause I don't know what u are spending your money on.
          Comment of the year:

Davros you have completely missed the argument mate.

For starters I am not comparing my clubs mis-management against your clubs good management. I have not been happy with what the Dragons have been doing on the recruitment and player retention market but that is not the argument here Davros Dalek. In fact I said "if you happen to sign both Tauma and Mezza then I wonder what you guys are doing with the Salary Cap." (therefore that issue has not crystalised yet or let me explain it to you in simple English 'Has not come to fruitition yet' (no issue yet you dope Davros )).

If it happens that will be the question I ask and a lot of other fans will too. Go and put your head back in the sand gloating Rooster .

PS That is a good idea Davros. I think Dragons fans should do something about Doust and Fatso Marshall for starters...I wonder whether a consumers affairs complaint would get the ball rolling.

              IF it happens.

The thing is, it never does. There is zero chance of us signing both Taumalolo and Merrin.

Opposition fans shouldn't get their knickers in a twist over rumours that we're signing everyone. Now if we do sign both of these players without losing much then yes, be suspicious.

Even our 2013 "spending spree" with the signings of SBW, Jennings and Maloney came on the back of a awful season and the release of half a dozen players.

As for the Dragons, aren't Dan Hunt, Joel Thompson, Mitch Rein and Ben Creagh on about 1.5 million between them? Good Lord, that's some awful mismanagement. How is Doust still in the job?

Taumalolo at this point in time is purely a power runner, his move from the edges to lock has suited him well but saying he could have as big an affect as SBW or that he has everything Merrin has is just flat out wrong. Merrin & he are very different players, Taumalolo may be the more powerful player but that's about the only advantage he's got over Merrin. Merrin's advantages are his mobility, footwork, offloads & superior defence.

As damaging as Taumalolo is with ball in hand he's a really poor defender. Maloney made an absolute fool of him in our Semi-Final this year. He's a hot talent but he's no where near the finished product so many on here think he is.
I believe over time he will have a big impact, probably not as big as sbw 2013 but he has all the attributes to become one of the best. I think trent would do wonders for taumalolo's defence if he is willing to work hard. imo taumalolo is bigger and more mobile than merrin. he is obviously not the finished article because he only 21 but he has huge potential

2010 MERGE paid the refs boss (in finch) a job as ceo at the st George faGONS. doesn't even smell abit funny that one and once finch signed as ceo with merge the merge couldn't even back up the next year, even without hardly any player changes. lol@merge

Great post backwards dragon! My thoughts exactly. Seriously, if it were Souffs / dogs etc all these rumours were linked to we'd all be seeing red and up in arms. There is no way we can get Merrin and Taumalolo without losing a few decent players in return.

Turk also claims that he will play for us next season. If true, there must be a deal in the making to facilitate this. Perhaps we will get some insights when the players return on 12th November and a player or two is not present.

Actually, your main problem is that idiot Doust. Its all about how u structure your contracts. And you guys are now finding out how Bennett and Doust structured your contracts. All backended.
