    You mean in daylight hours?
That would be wonderful news...a Roosters game not at halfway thru the night.

So many plusses for the day games... We seem to play that much better to boot.

But Souffs are against it because it will mean tow away games for them to start the season.

If $ouff$ don't want it to happen then the NRL will make sure that it doesn't happen! NRL will most likely have us play round 1 on the Sunday which will most likely be a hot day early in the season, then give us a short turnaround to face $ouff$ Friday night round 2, with $ouff$ getting an 8 day turnaround.
The year 2013 marks the beginning of the Roosters next 'decade of excellence', and it will prove to be more successful than the last!

If they're arguing for home ground then they can get ****ed.
Yeah well IMO they can't have it both ways!!! 2014 qualifying finals, Allianz was an AWAY game for the 3rd ranked Souths against the 2nd ranked Manly.

Don't wanna go back there and sound like a whinging j3rk, but it sooooo shoulda been at Brookie!!! You can't call it an away game so that you can get a 'home' final and then call it a home game so that you get the $$$ in round 1.

RUGBY league’s biggest grudge match between the Roosters and Rabbitohs will be played in the opening three rounds of the 2015 premiership. The game that normally launches the season has been put on hold to allow the Broncos and premiers South Sydney to kick off the season on Thursday night, March 5.

An NRL source says the Roosters-Rabbitohs will be scheduled in round two or three on a Friday night, live on Channel Nine.

Both Allianz and ANZ Stadiums are pitching to the NRL to host the game.

That stinks IMO. I don't care if it is not on Thursday night or even Friday night but I believe it should be Roosters v Souths in Rd 1 played on Sunday afternoon.

$ouff$ will not want to be playing us on a Sunday afternoon, after the last time when we flogged them!! $ouff$ much prefer Friday nights and will want to be playing us first up at ANZ. What $ouff$ want, the NRL makes sure they get, so expect the game to be on a Friday night at ANZ.

I hate playing souths in round one - creates way too much expectation in the first game. Happy this has been delayed.

                          You've all gone soft.

Lets put it this way: if Souths were a laughing stock like they were in the early to mid 2000's, we would be begging to play them in round 1, knock up a big score and get our campaign off to the perfect start.
Now that they're a threat from year to year, are we SCARED of playing them in the opening fixture? Sure looks like it.

I F*CKING hate Souths. I love beating them and I hate losing to them. It's passion. Passion that has stemmed from a rivalry that is over 100 years old. It's the closest we come to the atmosphere that surrounds soccer matches (especially now that Sydney FC and the Western Sydney Wanderers have formed an immediate rivalry).

With fans going soft, the grip of the sport on a domestic basis begins to slip.

The Sydney Roosters vs the South Sydney Rabbitohs should be permanently locked in for round 1 on a Friday night every year for the foreseeable future. It should be hyped up for a month, it should attract at least 40,000 fans without fail and the Ron Coote Cup should be recognised as something to play for, with a cash prize to accompany it.

If rugby league wants to take itself seriously, it has to play to its strengths. The powers that be believe State of Origin has the potential to be world class, the closest thing that comes to that is Easts vs Souths, and this NEEDS to be recognised and utilised.

You mean the Cadaver and Catamite (look that up, I'm not helping) eroticism is a selling point for the NRL?
