SKD going to the sharks has nothing to do with Folau, the club has indicated to the Managers of both SKD/Maloney that they won't get a contract extension beyond 2015.

there is an expectation that both SKD and Maloney will be Sharks players in 2016.

I can understand SKD because he's a 350k outside back who can be replaced by a 150k rookie like Nene.

But I'll be really surprised if we don't at least try and re-sign Maloney.

Maloney will be signing the final contract of his career, so he will be looking to setup his family for the future, the Sharks would probably give Maloney $600k a season for 3yrs due to the lack of decent options in the halves, that is money we simply can't/won't compete with.

If a club is insane enough to offer Maloney 600 a year then good luck to him.

He's one of my favourites and a high quality player, but far more players than there should be are being given those sort of lofty evaluations.

These crazy amounts just aren't workable in the current cap situation.
If one or two players are given big $ it means the remainder of the squad take a hit.

i don't agree, if you compare his overall stats with Foran and remember he is a 85% goal kicker

if Foran is asking 1.2m , surely BBQ is a bargain at 600k

in saying that i can't see us fitting him in
